People who are handy with grinders and belt sanders have been making “tactical” tomahawks from Estwing hatchets for years. Apparently, Estwing caught wind of those garage conversions and decided to bring out their own line of tomahawks and axes – Estwing Black Eagle Tools. The line includes a double bit axe and, more interestingly to me, a spike tomahawk.
The Estwing Black Eagle Tomahawk has many elements that will be familiar to those of you who, like me, use their ubiquitous hammers. It features Estwing’s Nylon Vinyl Shock Reduction Grip® and the typical forged steel construction. In addition to the synthetic handles, they are offering a version with a classic stacked leather handle. They are available in iconic Estwing blue, all black, and black with stacked leather handle.
