PHLster Holster Clinics

PHLster, a Philadelphia base kydex bender, has one of the most interesting kydex related channels on YouTube. They have the typical product demos that you would expect from a channel like this but they also conduct what they call Holster Clinics where Jon, the owner of PHLster, offers feedback on holsters that various other makers send to him.

These Holster Clinics are an absolute treasure trove of information for both kydex makers and kydex consumers like me. Makers can pick up tips and tricks that will improve their craft and guys like me learn what to look for in a holster.

PHLster just published episode 16 so there is plenty of content out there for you to dig into. Check out the PHLster YouTube Channel to view all the Holster Clinic episodes.

PHLster Suede Patches

PHLster is now offering adhesive suede patches through their website. These patches work great for any holster including those from PHLster. If you notice that your holster has hotspots that irritate you when you are wearing it, you can apply a bit of suede to ease your pain.

PHLster Blaster Holster Auction for the MARSOC Foundation

The PHLster made Blaster Holster that I mentioned recently is now being auctioned to benefit the MARSOC Foundation (25% of the proceeds go to the charity). The holster may look like it is made to hold Han Solo’s blaster, but it actually retains a Glock 19, 23, or 32. It is set up for a right handed shooter. It is signed and extremely limited – only one exists. Check out the auction on Ebay.

May the Kydex Be with You

Apparently there is a bit of a competition going on in the Kydex world right now to see who can make the coolest Star Wars themed kydex holster. I am not saying I understand it but I am definitely enjoying it.

Off the Grid Concepts fired the opening shot with this great Boba Fett themed holster.

PHLster answered the challenge with a very cool Yoda holster.

I can’t wait to see if another Kydex bender steps up!
