Sharps Bros. Hellbreaker AR-15 Receiver

I suspect that one look at the Sharps Bros. Hellbreaker AR-15 Lower Receiver will result in people either wondering why in the world there is nose art on an AR-15 receiver or wondering why in the world their AR-15 receiver doesn’t have nose art! It certainly isn’t for everyone (I’m not even sure it’s for me) but it is definitely unique.

Sharp Bros Hellbreaker

Apart from the nose art inspired molded shark feature, the Hellbreaker has everything you like to see in a lower. It is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard anodized. The magazine well is nicely beveled to speed reloads and the over sized integral trigger guard is contoured to match the unique shape of the magazine well. It is “MULTI” caliber marked and has pictogram selector markings. It can accept all mil-spec parts.

A friend of the blog called me about the Hellbreaker a few days ago and I was really glad to hear that they were going to be available soon. In spite of the fact that in August, 2012 Sharps Bros. was attempting to raise the funds necessary to bring the Hellbreaker to market via a crowd funding website but the website shut down the campaign because it was firearm related. I was following their progress then and even if I wasn’t sure how I felt about the appearance of the Hellbreaker, I can’t help but root for someone when something like that happens.

Modular Driven Technologies UBR Adjustable Buttplate

I have always thought that the Magpul UBR, with its fixed cheek weld position and rock solid locking mechanism, would make a great stock for a precision oriented AR-15. A company called Modular Driven Technologies makes a buttplate, the Enhanced Adjustable Recoil Pad for UBR, that further enhances the UBR’s chops as a precision stock.

The UBR is already adjustable for length of pull. The MDT Enhanced Adjustable Recoil Pad for UBR adds adjustments for drop, pitch, and offset.

Battle Arms Development BAD-BSM

I friend of mine recently sheared the bolt off of his MATECH Back Up Iron Sight which is actually quite common. Rather than bother with another flimsy screw and bracket, I pointed him to the BAD-BSM from Battle Arms Development. You know them for their selectors, but they also make a much improved screw and bracket for the MATECH.

The components of the BAD-BSM are thicker and stronger than the parts they replace. The parts are machined from bar stock and are designed to be less likely to be over-torqued.

Harris Tactical NiB-X AR-15 Bolt Carrier Group Pre-Order

I want to welcome Harris Tactical as our newest advertising partner on JTT. I have been pleased with the service that I have received from them and the way they have held the line on their pricing through all of the panic buying. I am thrilled to have them as part of Jerking the Trigger!

ARBCG

They have opened up pre-ordering on their upcoming NiB-X AR-15 Bolt Carrier Group. The NiB-X (Nickel Boron) coating provides durability, corrosion resistance, and easy clean up. Just as important as the coating, the carrier under the coating has all the mil-spec hallmarks of quality that you should be looking for in a quality BCG.

These BCG’s are expected to ship in late February to early March. They can be pre-ordered now at HarrisTacticalOnline.com.

BCM GUNFIGHTER Ambidextrous Charging Handle and Compensator

Bravo Company USA had a very productive weekend. They rolled out two new products that are going to set the market on fire – the GUNFIGHTER Ambidextrous Charging Handle and the GUNFIGHTER Compensator.

The GUNFIGHTER Ambidextrous Charging Handle is the ambidextrous version of the excellent GUNFIGHTER Charging Handle. I use the GUNFIGHTER Charging Handle on all of my carbines and it has served me very well.

The GUNFIGHTER Compensator is going to be a force to be reckoned with if it lives up to its claimed performance. The early reports on this muzzle device are very, very impressive. It is designed to minimize flash (though that isn’t its strongest attribute and mitigate muzzle climb without the concussive blast that is typical of a compensator. Based on reputation alone, I am inclined to take BCM at their word on this. It will be available in two versions – The MOD O is an A2 Flash Suppressor sized device while the MOD 1 is long enough to be pinned on a 14.5″ barrel to bring it to legal length.
