Crimson Trace Announces Glock 42 Laserguard

Crimson Trace lasers are the best thing that ever happened to compact and sub-compact handguns. They make pocket pistols far easier to aim and can really help stretch the distance at which smaller handguns are useful. The Glock 42 is perhaps the most anticipated compact handgun to come along all year so it should come as no surprise that Crimson Trace is already developing their excellent Laserguard for it.

Glock 42 Crimson Trace

From Crimson Trace:

Crimson Trace announces a first-in-the-industry laser sighting system—the Laserguard® (LG-443)— that securely fits onto one of the industry’s newest handguns: the small Glock 42, a .380 caliber pistol designed for pocket carry and self-defense concealment. The new Glock 42 is designed to fit the hands of most women and shooters with smaller hands—and the new Laserguard LG-443 will add little to the firearm’s overall size or weight to continue with the smaller dimensions that the pistol offers consumers.

The Laserguard LG-443 will contain a powerful 650 nm red diode and be powered by a 1/3N battery. This new Laserguard will be activated utilizing Crimson Trace’s patented Instinctive Activation® and will fit  securely to the firearm’s existing trigger guard without requiring any gunsmithing, pin removal or use of firearm retention screws. The full feature unit will also be user-adjustable for windage and elevation. This laser sight will have a Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price of $229.

The new Laserguard LG-443 comes directly on the heels of Glock’s release of the new pistol’s details and will continue Crimson Trace’s wide range of products designed to help make Glock pistols a better defensive firearm.  From the rail-mounted Rail Master® lights and lasers to the trigger guard mounted Lightguards®, plus the Lasergrips ® and Laserguards®, provide many options to accessorize numerous Glock models. For example, Crimson Trace’s Lasergrips are currently offered in 8 base models that will fit dozens of Glock pistols.  Overall, Crimson Trace offers 17 laser sights and light models that fit onto more than 20 different Glock pistols.

ALG Defense AFM

ALG Defense AFMThere have been pictures circulated around the internet of a Glock 17 with with a couple of accessories that Geissele Automatics designed for a specific military unit, one of which was a magwell (SSD was the source of the images I saw). That magwell is now available through ALG Defense, Geissele Automatics’s sister company, and is called the AFM (ALG Flared Magwell). It features a flared opening to make inserted a magazine at speed more forgiving and an exterior ledge that helps redistribute recoil through the user’s lower hand.

You can call ALG Defense or use the worksheet on their site to order.

Business End Customs to the Rescue

I have seen a handful of Glock frames over the years (in person and online) that have had chipping issues around the magazine well. If your Glock was displaying similar behavior, you could send it to Glock for repair or you could take it as a sign from the heavens that it was time to get some custom work done! That is just what happened with a Glock 19 recently. Lou at Business End Customs worked his magic and the G19 is better than new.

Glock Lubrication Graphic

Glock produced this handy graphic to remind you how to lube your Glock handgun and that Glocks do in fact need lube on occasion. Interestingly, the graphic does not list the barrel lugs as a lubrication point which I believe has been mentioned in Glock literature in the past.

Valkyrie Combat V-Series Custom Glocks

The new V-Series Custom Glock packages are now available from Valkyrie Combat. There are three packages available: the V-Lower, V-Upper, and Valkyrie Package which combines both the V-Lower and V-Upper packages.

Valkyrie Combat V-Series Glock

The V-Lower package ($400) contains Glock mod mainstays like finger groove removal, backstrap reduction, trigger guard undercut, trigger rounding, magwell cutouts, relieving the magazine release button, your choice of grip textures, and coating. These are fairly standard offerings that many of you are likely already familiar with.

The V-Upper package ($385) consists of some very slick slide modifications. The most noticeable modification is the addition of full length slide serrations that serve to enhance your grip on the slide regardless of where you grip it. Valkyrie Combat also adds what they call “Press Check Grooves” which serve to give you a ledge to pull against when executing a press check.

The Valkyrie Package ($706) includes everything listed above with the addition of the V-Mags. These are Glock magazines modified by Valkyrie Combat to include cuts in the side of the magazine to expose ammunition levels and stippled base plates. The Valkyrie Package also includes additional coating options, a box of COR®BON ammo, and admission in a Progressive F.O.R.C.E. Concepts pistol class.

Look for the V-Series Glock packages on ValkyrieCombat.com soon.
