5 Shot Leather Wins Best Holster – Un-Tooled at World Leather Debut 2016

Holster maker John Ralston, who you may know from 5 Shot Leather, is a wiz with leather and he has the hardware to prove it. He took first AND second place in the Holster – Un-Tooled Category at the World Leather Debut this year. The winning holster, one of his LFA-1 models, received a perfect score from the event judges.

Here is what he had to say about the holster:

This is my model LFA-1, and is made for a 5″ 1911. The amount of time and work that went into this one was staggering. Keeping the black from the lining and edging off of the natural leather was a full time job in itself! The white stitching compliments both the lining and the body of this piece. The black edging adds a nice frame to all of the components. The hardware was burried in order to leave a clean and uncluttered appearance.

The clean, simple beauty of this holster belies the technical skill that went into crafting it. It sold yesterday via the 5 Shot leather Facebook page for $450 and was worth every penny.

Craftsmanship is alive and well.
