AT Armor Contingency Plate Carrier

AT Armor’s new Contingency Plate Carrier is now available. The Contingency PC was designed to meet the needs of a patrol officer but it may also be a good fit for the prepared citizen.

AT-CPC-9

In its standard configuration, this is a slick carrier with easy donning and doffing thanks to the simple webbing cummerbund with side release buckles. The plate pockets are mesh backed for breath-ability and lightly padded for comfort. The Contingency PC can be used with or without the included tailored shoulder pads.

AT-CPC-5

Shown with placard (not included).

This carrier is very scalable. If you need to carry more gear you can add Velcro backed pouches or any SwiftClip compatible chest rig or placard. If you need side armor, you can add almost any aftermarket cummerbund that is up to 7″ tall.

On top of all that, it is made in the USA and very affordable. Check out the AT Armor Contingency Plate Carrier at AT Armor.

Bastion EDC Valet Tray

I put my flashlight, pocket knife, multitool, cell phone, keys, and similar EDC gear down in roughly the same place every day. When I don’t, it usually leads to me having to tear apart the house to find something. That is exactly why a valet tray is such a good idea for people like us who stuff their pockets with EDC gear daily. It serves as the perfect place to collect all that gear so you always know where it is (and your wife doesn’t have to remind you not to leave your stuff on every flat surface in the house every other day).

Bastion’s new Black PU Leather EDC Valet Tray looks great and won’t break the bank. It folds flat so you can travel with it and it even has a snap-in divider. The divider is handy so you can keep things like keys from being dropped on or rubbing against more sensitive gear like your phone.

Sentinel Gear Update

A lot has happened since I last mentioned Sentinel Gear. Their slim, easy to carry, no nonsense Mk3 is what put them on my radar. They have grown their line of self-defense oriented fixed blade knives considerably since then.

They have introduced a Pikal (reverse edge) knife called the Mk3 P’Kal. It features the same handle that can be found on the Mk3 with a chisel ground 1095 steel blade.

Sentinel Gear has also introduced their take on a Persian blade. It features a sweeping, curved blade with a great tip for point driven techniques. It is also available with a sharpened false edge which makes this knife work for both edge in and edge out techniques. The Persian is available in a number of handle options and even a package that comes complete with a training drone.

I like Sentinel Gear’s style. All of their knives are well suited to carry with a handgun and their slim designs make them easy to carry toward the wearer’s centerline. These are purpose driven custom knives that are very affordable compared to many knives in this same space.

Triple 7 Gear Trifecta

The Triple 7 Gear Trifecta is a package of all three EDC organizers made by Triple 7 Gear. A package like was bound to happen. It is destiny… meant to be.

Triple 7 Gear makes three EDC organizers – the original Mini Kit, the Micro Kit, and the CORE Nano Adventure Wallet. The Mini Kit is the largest, the CORE Nano Adventure Wallet is extremely compact, and the Micro Kit splits the difference. Each one is useful for different purposes thanks to their varied sizes.

I carry all three regularly. I have multiple Mini Kit MK-7s that I use as organizers for cables and backup batteries or range tool kits to carry essential range gear like a Multitasker Tool, Sharpies, note pad, and more. My Micro Kit is a dedicated first aid kit that I move from my EDC bag to my range bag as needed. The CORE Nano Adventure Wallet keeps several small EDC items organized and allows me to move them from bag to bag or stuff them in my pocket.

Using all three of these organizers together lets me layer and move my gear as necessary. They work perfectly together which is why the Triple 7 Gear Trifecta is just meant to be.
