The Beretta 1301 is an excellent shotgun and now KE Arms has made it easy to mount an excellent optic on it. Their new Aimpoint Micro mount places the Aimpoint as close to the receiver as possible which generally precludes the need for a comb riser and does not require gunsmithing to install.
This mount is made for the 1301 Competition model. It will not work on the 1301 Tactical.

This cord has the typical seven internal strands but it also has a strand of 8 lb test monofilament fishing line and a strand of jute twine which is very useful as tinder (just remove it, fluff it with your knife, and it will readily take a spark).
