Spiritus Systems to Introduce Expander Wings for Micro Fight Chest Rig

Spiritus Systems’s little chest rig that could, the Micro Fight Chest Rig, is about to learn some new tricks. They will be introducing Expander Wings to further increase the modularity and versatility of the Micro Fight.

The Expander Wings secure to the rig via large Velcro wings that attach to the back of the Micro Fight Chest Rig. The lat straps can then be routed through webbing on the Expander Wings to ensure a secure connection. The Expander Wings have an open top pouch design with shock cord retainers that will allow the user to carry radios, tourniquets, water bottles, and more.

Look for the Expander Wings to be released soon at dealers and at SpiritusSystems.com.

Interesting USB Charging Concept from Streamlight

Flashlights that can be recharged via USB ports are not new. However, Streamlight is taking the concept to new heights with an entire suite of lighting products that can be recharged via USB and a central product, the Super Siege Lantern, that can serve as the charger!

Streamlight’s Super Siege Lantern is great product on its own but by adding two headlamps and a handheld tactical light to their USB rechargeable lineup, the Super Siege is now the central element of an entire concept. The lantern features a large capacity rechargable battery with USB ports that can be used to recharge items like cell phones… and now flashlights. The applications for something like this are broad – hiking/camping, emergency lighting in the home, trade work like construction, and the list goes on.

There Will Be Blood in the Streets…

It has been just over a year since Idaho’s so-called Constitutional Carry law was put in place. In that year, Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety was proven right – children are dying, firearm related crime is sky-rocketing, murders are on the rise, and there is blood flowing in the streets…

Just kidding. Nothing changed. Law abiding people continued to follow the law, exercising their rights peacefully without the requirement for permission. The same story could be written for every state that has adopted some form of permit-less carry.

The Bonner County Bee, a daily newspaper in North Idaho, ran a story highlighting the fact that the terrible happenings contained in the warnings of those opposed to Constitutional Carry have not yet materialized in Idaho. You can read it here: A YEAR IN, NO BIG DEAL WITH PERMITLESS CARRY.

There is one major twist that no one saw coming contained in that story. Some Idaho trainers are reporting that the number of people taking the training to receive Idaho’s enhanced permit (a permit that grants wider reciprocity with states other than ID) has actually increased – not decreased like everyone would have guessed a year ago. It seems that, in some areas, MORE people are seeking at least some form of training.
