Noveske BattleSpork

Noveske Spork

I am a sucker for a good spork and the new Noveske BattleSpork looks like a great spork. It is forged from 6AL4V medical grade titanium and weighs only 1.6 ounces. The BattleSpork features .25″ box wrench and a bottle opener. Best of all, at 9.3″ long, it is long enough to dig into MRE bags or other trail food packages.

The first, numbered run of the BattleSpork sold out quickly. Check out Noveske website for your chance at the second run.

Midwest Armor Available at Appalachian Training

GuardianI am about to make your day. You know how you have been putting off buying ballistic plates because you didn’t think you could afford good ones? Well, now you can. Appalachian Training is now stocking Midwest Armor Guardian IV plates at $138.95 per plate.

These are 10×12″, Level IV stand-alone plates from a retailer that offers the best service in the armor biz for less than $140 a piece. That is pretty tough to beat.

Check them out at Appalachian Training.

Appalachian Training Plymouth Rig

LPAC-ATPR-3

Recipe for a great armor set up:

  1. Start with a quality carrier like the Mayflower R&C Low-Profile Armor Carrier.
  2. Add Mayflower R&C’s breathable mesh cummerbund.
  3. Add Mayflower R&C shoulder pads.
  4. Combine all the ingredients and sell for one special package price.

That is the recipe that Appalachian Training followed for their latest armor package – the AT Plymouth Rig.The Plymouth Rig is named for a group of police officers from Massachusetts who had input into the design of the package. This package can be run slick or scaled up to a number of configurations easily by adding soft armor (not included), hard plates (not included), chest rigs via the SwiftClip attachment system (not included), and other PALS compatible accessories.

The recipe for a great armor set up isn’t complicated. It’s just great components at a great price.

New Tools from GUNN-FIGHTER.com

GUNN-FIGHTER.com has introduced 2 new tools (with more in the works) that are in the same vein as their DE-CAP-ATURTLE. Both new tools have many of the same features as the DE-CAP-ATURTLE including1/4″ thick 6061 aluminum construction and a Besh wedge style prying edge that makes them all mean and nasty.

GUNN-FIGHTER SFS

The Super Flying Squirrel (SFS) has 2 bottle openers and additional finger/palm support versus the DE-CAP-ATURTLE. It is a bigger handful of aluminum though possibly less discreet in appearance.

GUNN-FIGHTER BS

The Baby Squirrel is basically a compacted version of the SFS that looks to strike a good balance between it purpose built nature and a more discreet appearance and size.
