Why a Tomahawk? – RMJ Tactical

RMJ_Talon_03__31576.1431981758.1280.1280

RMJ Tactical has compiled an interesting resource regarding the ways you might use a tomahawk and how to choose one for yourself. Interestingly, the information contained in the resource does not necessarily steer you to an RMJ product. There are a number of tomahawk makers out there offering ‘hawks at varying price points. This resource might just help you ask the right questions when you are shopping.

Dark Angel Medical Celebrates 50 Lives Saved

We celebrate a lot of milestones in this industry – likes, followers, page views, subscribers, sales, rounds fired… Those are great but Dark Angel Medical can top them all. They are celebrating 50 lives saved as a direct result of their training and line of medical gear.

From Dark Angel Medical:

Not long ago, we received a report on our 50th save using one of our med kits. That’s 50 reported saves in just five years! This is why we do it. There’s nothing cool or sexy about med kits. It’s about giving someone another chance at another birthday.

We encourage all of you to carry a med kit. The time chooses you, but it’s up to you to be prepared!

Kudos to Dark Angel Medical. That is one heck of a milestone.

Snugpak Stasha at OC Tactical

I have used a few of the Snugpak tents and have generally been pretty impressed with the value they offer. OC Tactical is now offering their Stasha – a lighter, more compressible version of the classic British Basha. It weighs just 13 ounces and packs small enough to fit in a cargo pocket. In addition to its tarp shelter functionality, it can be snapped together into an improvised bivy sack.

At just $37, it is one of most affordable compact shelter options available. Check out the Snugpak Stasha at OC Tactical. If you haven’t visited OC Tactical in a while, you should. They have greatly expanded their offerings.

Bladerigs Leatherman Wave OWB Pouch

Bladerigs created a very slick Leatherman Wave sheath for a friend and it turned out so well that they are offering it for sale. The sheath is unique in that it can hold the multitool whether it is open or closed! It can even secure the tool via a soft loop with snap in either position. That is slick and very, very handy.

The sheath includes a large Tek-Lok to attach it to your belt/gear. Check out the Leatherman Wave OWB Pouch at Bladerigs.

RE Factor Tactical Rapid Deployment Buttstock Tourniquet Holder

RE Factor Tactical’s new Rapid Deployment Buttstock Tourniquet Holder is designed to play nicely with the RATS Tourniquet but it can also serve as a fuller coverage option (versus their Buttstock Tourniquet Holder) for storing CAT or SOF-T TQs.

The new Rapid Deployment Buttstock Tourniquet Holder covers the TQ with a neoprene sleeve. It attaches to your rifle (or other items) via easy to use and secure bungee straps with toggles. The back of the holder is lined with rubber grip material that prevents the holder from moving around on the buttstock.
