Keyrambit Friction Folder Insert For KeyBar

When you look at a KeyBar you see a great way to carry, organize, and silence keys. When C Despins of Max Venom looks at a KeyBar he sees a chassis for a folding karambit. If you follow Max Venom, this is not a surprise.

The Keyrambit Friction Folder Insert For KeyBar turns your KeyBar into a folding karambit. The kit comes with a folding finger loop and hooked blade. Both the blade and loop are made from 154CM steel. This setup “locks” via a friction lock design which means the blade has a protrusion coming from its base that is locked in place by the user’s palm when the knife is gripped.

TAC-TOPS Karambit

I was just lamenting the fact that I wasn’t born with 6″ long retractable claws. Fortunately, TOPS Knives has a fix for that. Their new TAC-TOPS Karambit is the closest thing a human can get to a retractable claw.

TACTOPS Karambit Info

The TAC-TOPS Karambit is another collaboration between TOPS Knives and Colin Despins of the Max Venom Product Group. This is a karambit blown up to massive proportions. It has cutting edges, strategically placed striking surfaces, and basically hurts no matter which part of it contacts an opponent.

The TAC-TOPS may not be for everyone but it is a sight to behold. Check it out at TOPS Knives.

Iron Ulu from RMJ Tactical

When you think RMJ Tactical, you think tomahawks but their latest product definitely isn’t a tomahawk… It’s a ulu and, in a way, that makes sense. Ulus are kind of like an axe or tomahawk without a pole and can be used in surprisingly similar ways if you know what you are doing.

While most ulus are made for skinning and food prep, the new Iron Ulu is made for survival. It’s ground from 1/4″ thick 4140 steel, the same tough carbon steel used in RMJ Tactical’s Jenny Wren tomahawk. It features a sniper gray finish and machined texture tan, gray, black G-10 grips.

It also comes with a full-coverage kydex sheath. RMJ Tactical’s sheaths/scabbards are always very well designed and the Iron Ulu’s sheath is no exception. It features the same hole spacing as their tomahawk sheaths so you have plenty of mounting options.

This is not the small souvenir ulu you have seen on your aunt Lucille’s counter-top after her RV trip to Alaska. The Iron Ulu has a massive 6.25″+ blade. It is purposely designed to be large so that part of it can be reserved for finer, detail cuts and the rest of it can be abused.

TOPS Knives Desert Nomad

The latest knife from TOPS, the Desert Nomad, is a looker but it can be put to work too. The design is reminiscent of the classic Ek Bowie but with obvious TOPS Knives flair.

Desert Nomad (2)

The Desert Nomad features 440C stainless steel instead of their more common 1095 carbon steel. TOPS does 440C very well. With their heat treat, it takes a beating, is easy to maintain, and relatively easy to sharpen even if all you have is a small sharpening stone in the field. The .190″ thick blade features a saber grind and a large unsharpened swedge grind.

Desert Nomad (6)

The knife features a large cross guard that keeps the user’s hand on the textured, black G-10 grip. The knife’s tang extends down from the grip into a pommel with lanyard hole that can be used for pounding. The included leather drop-sheath has a tie-off that allows it to be anchored to the wearer’s thigh for stability.

Watson Knives Clinch Pick Modifications

The factory production version of the venerable Shivworks Clinch Pick is a very good knife right out of the box but there is room for improvement. For instance, the sheath has too much material around the guard area of the knife. This prevents the user from gripping the Clinch Pick optimally without having to adjust their grip. Some users also find the handle to be slightly larger than it needs to be and, as with any factory knife, the edge can be improved. That is where Watson Knives comes in…

Joe Watson Clinch Pick Mods

Watson Knives now offers a Shivworks Clinch Pick Modification package that addresses the issues above. The mod package has three components that can be mixed and matched based on your needs. Watson Knives can re-grind the knife with a thinned, hollow primary and secondary bevel to improve cutting performance. They can also thin and texture the G-10 handle slabs to slightly reduce the handle size and greatly improve grip. Finally, they can trim your sheath so that it has both excellent retention but also allows a proper grip right from the sheath.

These modifications will require you to send your Clinch Pick to Watson Knives so be sure to follow directions carefully. Check out the Shivworks Clinch Pick Mods at Watson Knives.
