Beez Combat Systems to Exhibit at Rifle Dynamics Red Oktober Kalashnikov Championship

Beez Combat Systems will attend Rifle Dynamics Red Oktober Kalashnikov Championship as an exhibitor. It is the perfect time to check out their line of AK pouches, chest rigs, and more.

Few, if any firearms have influenced the course of history more than the Kalashnikov series of assault rifles. Easily manufactured, tough as nails, simple enough for any conscript soldier or freedom fighter to operate, the AK is the most popular combat rifle in the world.

Unfortunately, the American AK is left behind when it comes to fun competitive shooting matches, in modern 3-Gun and Carbine matches it is simply outpaced by high-speed and highly modified AR-style rifles.

Come by and visit (Next to stage 1, 2, 3, 4). If you are attending stop by and see our new laser cut AK GRID product line.

Forward Controls Design RHF

Forward Controls Design’s (FCD) new RHF rails are manufactured by CMT. The rails are based on the UHPR Mod2 but with some changes based on FCD’s input.

FCD’s changes include:

  1. Omission of QD swivel attachment points to allow the user to place their own sling attachment point.
  2. Barrel cooling vents changed to the classic round shape to pay homage to Knight’s Armament’s RAS and RIS where meaningful modular revolution began.
  3. Simplification of the already understated aesthetics of the CMT UHPR Mod 2 handguard.

The RHF rails start life as 6000 series extruded aluminum which is then machined to its final shape. The barrel nuts are machined from 7075 aluminum and the mounting hardware is 17-4 PH stainless steel.

The RHF rails feature M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock with a full length top rail. They have anti-rotation tabs.

Weight including all hardware:

6.7″, 6.5oz
9.5″, 7.9oz
13.7″, 10.2oz
15″, 10.9oz

PHLster to Update City Special

PHLster is bringing back their City Special hoslter – an AIWB holster designed specifically for carrying small frame revolvers. Their original City Special was one of the most forward thinking holsters available for compact wheelguns. The new version looks to build on that legacy with new features, support for a new gun, and PHLster’s advanced manufacturing methods.

The City Special will be available in two versions for the Smith & Wesson J-Frames and, new for updated the City Special, the Ruger LCR. The holsters will support the snub configuration in all calibers for each revolver. All City Special holsters will be Crimson Trace Lasergrip compatible. Additionally, the holsters will feature subtle mold elements on the muzzle end that reduce hotspots and help prevent the feeling that the gun is tipping out away from the wearer.

Fans of the original PHLster City Special will remember the optional reload cut. I am happy to report that the cut will be standard on all new City Specials. This cut allows the user to wedge the revolver into the holster with the cylinder held open to facility a one handed reload. This was one of the most innovative features of the original City Special and it is nice to see it retained on the new version.

PHLster tells us they are aiming for a mid-October release for the new holster. It will be priced identically to the Classic ($74.99). Once released, the City Special will be a regular stock item with no lead time.
