BCS Sidewing S2 and S3

The new Sidewing from Beez Combat Systems (BCS) allows users to convert compact chest rigs like the Spiritus Systems Mk4 and similar into larger, full-sized chest rigs.

The Sidewing is available in two sizes. The S2 version adds two laser cut PALS columns per side while the larger S3 adds 3 columns. The S2 and S3 are constructed from BCS’ laser cut GRID material. They come with all the buckles necessary to adapt the Spiritus Systems Mk4 harness to the Sidewing.

Speedbox Launches Endurance-70

Speedbox has released their new Endurance-70, an updated replacement for the Voyager-70. The new Endurance-70 makes the improved, updated features of the Endurance-40 available in a larger, 70 gallon size.

The new Endurance-70 has large, no-flat tires and a milled aluminum handle to allow easy transport. The handle is attached to the body via steel plates to ensure it never stresses the rotomolded polymer construction. It also has two steel locking plates for use with padlocks (padlocks not included).

The lid is secured via two side-mounted cam locks that help pull the lid against a large water-resistant gasket. The Endurance-40 that I own and reviewed has the same camming lid and gasket setup and it survived a trip down a creek without water ingress.

The Endurance-70 is optimized for the same 463-L pallet as the original Voyager-70. However, the Endurance-70 features improved stacking and locking functionality and more lift points.

Wilde CUSTOM Gear

Wilde Custom Gear has the word “CUSTOM” in their name for a reason. Yes, they have a growing line of off-the-shelf tactical nylon gear. However, they still take on a lot of truly custom projects like their safe door organizers which must be tailored to each individual safe.

Sometimes those custom projects have a decidedly local flair. Given their location in southern California, this request for a custom padded surfboard carrying case in M81 probably isn’t that surprising… But, it is definitely too cool not to share.

Whiskey Two-Four – PALS Back Panel for Crye JPC 2.0

Whiskey Two Four’s PIMPS (Practical Integrated Modular Platform, Scalable) PALS Back Panel 64 for Crye Precision* JPC 2.0 is available in medium and large.  Back Panel 64 was developed using a medium and large SAPI plate and a medium and large Crye JPC 2.0 for the respective sizes.

Back Panel 64 uses milspec elastic and VELCRO® Brand ONE-WRAP® loops for hydro and cable routing.  YKK heavy duty zipper pull tabs tuck securely and silently into milspec elastic loops at the base.  A combo laser cut PALS/loop field accepts ID, IFF, patches, etc.  Rather than depending on a stiffener, we opted to connect Back Panel 64’s corners to the Crye JPC 2.0’s shoulder straps to minimize saggy sag and floppy flop tendencies.  Connectors are skeletonized so as to not interfere with factory features.  Back Panel 64 has laser cut PALS throughout for maximum flexibility.  JPC 2.0’s drag handle is still accessible after adding Back Panel 64.

Maintaining a stressed skin can be tricky; milspec 550 parachute cord and ITW GTSP Cordlocs act as load lifters.  Once the Back Panel 64 is properly mated to your Crye Precision JPC 2.0, adjust the paracord loop as necessary to achieve tension.  Don’t forget to knot your paracord.

Back Panel 64 is Berry compliant and made in the USA.  Back Panel 64 uses ACRONYM made from MIL-DTL-32439 500D nylon, A-A-55126 nylon hook & loop, A-A-59826 bonded nylon thread, MIL-W-5664 nylon elastic, YKK USA heavy duty zippers, and well compensated, skilled labor to produce a cost effective part.

WTF’s Back Panel 64 is manufacturable.  Whether for direct or dealer sale, this design is realistic for us to keep in stock or near stock with (as close to) on demand cut & sew (as we can get) and replenishing inventory on the fly.  This design represents a balance of durability, ease of assembly, machine operator fatigue reduction, COTS materials use, cost effective cut and sew methods, self jigging/locating design, scalability, and usability.

Back Panel 64 for Crye JPC 2.0, medium  is lightweight at just 5.4 / 154g.  $69 introductory price.

Sneak Peek: New ALPC Cummerbund and Side Plate Pouches from Gadsden Dynamics

Gadsden Dynamics gave us a preview of coming attractions. They are continuing to build up their line of modular options and accessories for their ALPC. The next accessories to be released will be a new PALS cummerbund that will be offered as an alternative to the current elastic cummerbund and a new side plate pocket. The cummerbund is laser cut to be fully MOLLE compatible and maintains the Tubes closure of the ALPC.

They have also developed a new side plate carrier that is compatible with both the current and new PALS cummerbund options. Gadsden Dynamics states that they spent a lot of time designing a side plate pouch that is as minimalist as it can be (as with all their gear) while still being able to bear the weight of the plate.

The new cummerbund and side plate pockets for the ALPC should be available within a week.
