Some of you will remember a Kickstarter project called Tough Hook. Tough Hook is a purpose built hanger that can be used to hang heavy tactical gear like chest rigs and plate carriers. It also has an integrated carry handle to make it easy to transport your gear.
The project was sufficiently funded for the production of Tough Hook to continue and I have been checking in on it from time to time since its initial appearance. I am happy to say Tough Hooks are now shipping. It is great to see a great idea move from the idea stage to a full blown product.

I know several of you are anxiously awaiting the availability of the previously mentioned CORE Panel from Austere Provisions Company. Well, I have good news. It is in production now. They should be in stock in less than 30 days. Multicam and Wolf Grey will be available out of the gate.
For those who may not know, the CORE Panel is a small MOLLE compatible panel that features Blue Force Gear MOLLEminus Technology and can serve as a stand-alone organizer or a drop-in organizer for other packs and bags. It is an extremely versatile piece of gear.

It has been hard to keep up with the news coming out of TacStrike lately. They are in their third year of business and on the move in a big way.
They announced a sale on their popular Arch Frame Target Carrier that will run through the end of this month. The Arch Frames are on sale for $29.95 each or $28.95 each if you buy 5.
TacStrike also announced their Product Review Initiative. They want their site to become a clearing house for useful information about their products so they are using this initiative to encourage people to add their honest reviews (good or bad) to the TacStrike site. They will pick a monthly winner to receive free TacStrike gear.

This recent exchange on Facebook highlights everything that is great about the tactical gear community. Here is what went down:
A Facebook user who is also a police officer who is facing potential riots in the coming days, needs a ho0k backed admin pouch for a Mayflower R&C plate carrier yesterday. The admin pouch must also have hook material on the front so he can display ID. A few posters recommend custom gear makers but the officer believes he needs an off-the-shelf solution due to a tight timeline. That is when custom gear guru Darrin Talbott, AKA EGROLL of Extreme Gear Labs (EGL), steps up the plate in a big way…
It’s just that easy. This industry gets things done!
