Fortis REV Rail 9CAR

The newest version of the the Fortis REV Rail is the 9CAR. It is designed for AR-15s with the carbine length gas system.

REV-Carbine-F-640x480

This iteration of the REV Rail has all the same features that the REV has become known for including, extreme light weight, KeyMod attachment points on the 3 and 9 o’clock sides, full rails on the 12 and 6 o’clock sides, and forward partial rails at 3 and 9 o’clock. The 9CAR sets itself apart with an front sight base (FSB) cutout that allows it to wrap around the FSB (or piston system) on the sides and bottom which can be an ideal place to mount a weapon light.

New Sheath Option for the Gryphon M-10

The Gryphon M-10 is a modern classic tactical fixed blade that is only available from Cutlery Shoppe. ThisĀ Bob Terzuola design is one of those rare designs that is at home on a battle belt or your EDC belt. It has been available off and on for years and always sells out quickly.

Gryphon M-10 SheathPro

Previously, the M-10 was only available with the original James Keating designed, River City Sheaths made Drawpoint sheath. However, sometimes the availability of the sheaths held up the availability of the knives. Thankfully, it is now available with a new sheath option that is both less expensive and more available. The new sheath is from SheathPro and it is a very nice pancake design with a G-Clip.

The best part is that the M-10 with the new SheathPro sheath costs $50 less than the original! This is a killer set up at $100. I hear that there may be a third sheath option soon.

Stay tuned for a full review. Check out the new M-10 at Cutlery Shoppe.

Mountain Tribe Gear

Mountain Tribe Pack

Mountain Tribe Gear is a gear maker to watch. They will be designing and manufacturing packs based on the proven and affordable Down East Inc. (DEI) pack frames. Their initial offerings will be based the packs that DEI has already developed. These are great packs that never received much exposure. They are already working on improving the designs.

Every bit of these packs will be made in the US. I am really looking forward to seeing what they develop. You can keep tabs on their soft launch by visiting theĀ Mountain Tribe Gear Facebook Page.
