Most places that embroider name tapes use clothing weight fabrics for the backing. This works, but it will never match your gear perfectly. Fight and Flight Tactical uses 500D and 1000D CORDURA nylon as their backing and they have ton of different color and camo options available including Kryptek! They offer 1″ format and 2″ format name tapes. I will be ordering some of these soon!

Blue Force Gear Urban Wolf – What is Available Right Now?
Blue Force Gear just added a page to their site that lists all the gear that is currently available in their new Urban Wolf gray colorway. New items will be added in the future but they already have the makings of a killer plate carrier set up. Check out the Urban Wolf page at BlueForceGear.com.
GG&G 45 Degree Transition Sights
While the offset iron sight concept seems to be gaining traction, there still aren’t more than a handful of manufacturers that are actually producing them. I just learned of a fairly recent addition to that short list from Harris Tactical. The GG&G 45 Degree Transition Sights look like they split the middle between some of the offset iron sight sets that are currently available. They offer more precision than something like the XS Sights XTI but lack all the adjustment at the rear sight like the Dueck Defense RTS (which some users may not need).

Blue Force Gear Introduces Urban Wolf
We have known that the release of Blue Force Gear’s new Urban Wolf grey colorway was coming since SHOT Show 2013 in February. BFG is currently at SOFIC in Tampa, FL and they just made it official…
TAMPA, FL—May 14, 2013—Blue Force Gear® introduces their product line in Urban Wolf at SOFIC. Urban Wolf is a specific shade of grey that blends well in many urban environments. In low light situations the easiest colors to see are those with the highest contrast: white and so called “tactical” black. Grey is a mid-tone and therefore has low contrast against average backgrounds – making it a good drab solid in a wide variety of situations and surroundings.
With the ever growing focus on security in densely populated urban, suburban, and industrial environments, security forces need a pattern that works with man-made settings and yet is not overtly camouflage. Urban Wolf load carriage equipment works with blue, black, ranger green, and Arc’teryx LEAF Wolf uniforms in the urban direct action role as well as blending with civilian apparel for low visibility special reconnaissance missions.
“Urban Wolf is basically the color of wet concrete, near the color values of asphalt, steel, and reflective glass,” said John Felushko, Blue Force Gear’s Product Line Manager. “It was designed by Arc’teryx specifically as a better alternative to black and blue in the SWAT role but because of its ability to blend with diverse terrains, we like it as a general purpose colorway for many missions, terrains, and tactics.”
New Blue Force Gear products in Urban Wolf are on display May 14 – 15 in the Franklin Boardroom of the Embassy Suites across the Tampa Convention Center Franklin walkway. It is also available for sale today at BlueForceGear.com.

Patch Collecting: UW Gear Logo Patch
In the time that UW Gear has been partnering with Jerking the Trigger, they have become great friends of mine. I couldn’t get my check in the mail fast enough when they decided to produce a patch. These patches are sold out now (they were gone by the time I had mine) but there may be other patches released as a later date. Check out UWGearInc.com.
