V7 Titanium QD Endplate

The new V7 Titanium QD Endplate is a drop in replacement for the standard endplate. It provides a QD sling swivel socket that can be used with single point or two point sling configurations. It also happens to be machined from titanium which makes it about 50% lighter (7.2 grams) than the standard steel endplate and gives your AR something in common with the SR-71 “Blackbird”… you know, because it had some titanium too. There is no escaping the fact that titanium is cool.

V7 Weapon Systems Titanium KMR Barrel Nut

V7 Weapon Systems is just showing off. They have made several lightweight AR-15 parts but those were lighter versions of standard parts. Their latest is a lighter barrel nut for a well known free-float rail with the main selling point of already being the lightest on the market!

Their new Titanium KMR Barrel Nut is a drop-in replacement for the BCM KMR rail and weighs just 26 grams (a roughly 19 gram savings over the standard KMR nut). It is made from grade 5 titanium with a raw or an ion bond black finish.

For your convenience, I will go ahead and get the crotchety comments out of the way. Men used to be men… jabber, jabber, jabber… it’s only a few grams lighter… jabber, jabber… this lightweight stuff has gotten out of control… jabber, jabber, jabber… too expensive… jabber, jabber.

I suspect they wouldn’t even care if they didn’t sell a single one of these (I doubt that will be the case) because, like I said, this is just showing off.

V7 SCAR Selector Levers

V7 Weapon Systems has turned their attention to a new rifle – the FN SCAR. Their new V7 SCAR Selector Levers come as a set with a long and short lever. You would typically install the short lever on your non-dominant side so that it reduces the likelihood of interfering with your dominant side trigger finger.

They are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard anodized. There are fairly aggressive steps machined into the sides of the levers to ensure positive grip and, unsurprisingly if you are familiar with V7, excess material has been machined away to keep the levers as light as possible.

V7 Weapon Systems Ultra-Light AR-10 Port Door

V7 AR10 port door

V7 Weapon Systems is continuing their crusade against unnecessary ounces and they have turned their attention toward a new rifle – the AR-10. Their new V7 Ultra-Light AR-10 Port Door weighs in at 9 grams which is about 45% lighter than a typical AR-10 port door. It is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard anodized. It certainly doesn’t shed much weight on its own, but I suspect we will start to see more and more lightweight AR-10 parts from V7 that could be part of an overall weight reduction strategy.

V7 Weapon Systems Adds ROSCH Works Products

Two of the most innovative manufacturers of AR-15 parts and accessories have teamed up. V7 Weapon Systems is now offering V7 branded versions of the excellent ROSCH Works SLM-1 light mount and C7 Compensator.

I previously reviewed the SLM-1 and found it to be excellent. I haven’t reviewed the C7 but I do own one. It is one of my favorite muzzle devices for how much performance it offers for the price. It is fairly neutral, not as flashy as some, and it won’t break the bank.

Check out the new V7 branded versions of the ROSCH Works favorites.
