Damage Industries AK-47 Modular Forearm Assembly MkIII

This is something of a golden age for AK-47 shooters. There are so many great accessories on the market that can really improve the functionality of the venerable AK. One of the newest such accessories is the Damage Industries AK-47 Modular Forearm Assembly MkIII.

Damage Industries AK-47 Modular Forearm Assembly MkIII

The AK-47 Modular Forearm Assembly MkIII is a new and improved version of Damage Industries’ previous railed forearms. This new version has top and bottom rails with slick sides and modular rail sections that can be attached in a number of locations including high and forward on the side of the upper hand guard. That can be an ideal location for a weapon mounted light.

It comes with 2 rails sections and mounting hardware. One of the rail sections includes a QD sling swivel socket so you won’t have to purchase a separate sling mount.

The AK-47 Modular Forearm Assembly MkIII is machined from aluminum and hard anodized in the USA. It adds considerable functionality but only 4-6 ounces to the total weight of your AK. Check it out at Damage Industries.

H6 Buffer Upgrade Kit from Damage Industries

Previously, if you wanted to use a collapsible carbine stock on your 20″ AR-15 with rifle length gas system you didn’t have many choices. You could do what I did for years and use an H3 buffer but in certain situations, this can be less than ideal or you could use the VLTOR A5 system. The H6 buffer was specifically developed to fill this role but they were relatively difficult to find until recently when Damage Industries introduced their new H6 Buffer Upgrade Kit.

The kit comes with everything you need to reliably operate your rifle upper with a carbine receiver extension – the 5 ounce H6 buffer, a 4 position receiver extension, a castle nut, an end plate, and a buffer spring. I firmly believe that 20″ barreled AR-15s with rifle length gas systems are still a very good choice for a general purpose rifle (maybe even the best choice) and they are even better with a collapsible stock.

AK Muzzle Brake from Damage Industries

Muzzle brakes can go a long way toward lightening recoil but many of them can also go a long way toward lightening your wallet. The new AK Muzzle Brake from Damage Industries claims to be able to tame muzzle rise while still keeping your wallet lined.

The design is pretty standard. It features a large expansion chamber and 2 ports on each side. Damage Industries claims that it both reduces muzzle flash and reduces recoil. It is black oxide finished and 14-1 left hand threaded.

It may be that the most interesting feature of the AK Muzzle Brake is its price. At only $17.95, it appears to be a pretty good deal if it lives up to its claims. Check out the AK Muzzle Brake on DamageUSA.com.

Damage Industries Muzzle Brake

Damage Industries is offering a new muzzle brake. The new brake features a simple design that is machined from 4140 steel and black phosphate finished. It is available in 1/2×28 and 5/8×24 thread patterns.

The real news is the price. We don’t usually talk about price here on JTT, preferring to let you decide what something is worth. However, in this case the price is a defining feature. This brake costs only $17.95 and it is on sale for an introductory price of $14.95.

I have no data on the performance of this brake but I suspect that many people will be willing to give it a try based on the price alone. Check out DamageUSA.com for more details.

Damage Industries Buttstock, M4 Carbine w/QD Sockets

The Damage Industries Buttstock, M4 Carbine w/QD Sockets looks a lot like the standard M4 stock that comes on many AR-15s with collapsible stocks. However, it has an additional useful feature – QD sling swivel sockets. The sockets are located toward the front of the stock, just in front of the release lever.

These stocks are available in a wider variety of colors than your typical standard M4 stock. They have all of the usual colors like FDE, OD Green, and Black along with a really good looking darker brown called SHTF Brown.

This stock looks like a nice functional upgrade to the standard M4 stock without spending an arm and leg. Check out the Damage Industries Buttstock, M4 Carbine w/QD Sockets on DamageUSA.com.
