AC-Unity Quad Stack 60 Rd. 7.62×39 AK Magazine

A Bosnian company, AC-Unity, is bringing a quad stack magazine for 7.62×39 AKs to the US market. The 60 round capacity magazine features polymer construction with a clear window running down the length of the magazine and metal reinforced front and rear locking tabs (no reinforcement in the feed lips). The follower design locks the bolt to the rear on empty and the manufacturer claims the magazine will be impact resistant.

The AC-UNity Quad Stack magazine weighs 12.35 ounces unloaded and around 3 pounds loaded (depending on the type of ammo) which is significantly less than a 75 round drum magazine. The retail price will be around $80.

Initial reports have indicated that there may be some length of break-in period for the magazine. At least one very early test indicated some follower binding that seemed to improve with use.

AC-Unity has a basic website that is still under construction. These are already available for pre-sale at a handful of retailers.

Extreme Gear Labs AK-47 Belt Pouch

Extreme Gear Labs has been working on a new belt mounted pouch for AK-47 shooters. The pouch manages to look like a vintage piece of of AK kit but it is thoroughly modern in materials and design.

The EGL AK-47 Belt Pouch is designed to mount on a typical loop backed shooters or rigger belt (1.75-2.00″ wide). The open top pouches accept .308 KYWIs inserts which serve to retain the magazine. The use a large bucket type pouch with a hard liner is a great way to retain an AK magazine as their lugs tend to tear up pouches that fit directly against the magazine.

1 Shot AK Magazines/Bottle Openers from Bad Element Co.

Bad Element Co. is like the AK Magazine Whisperer. He can massage a roughly machined piece of ComBloc steel into a work of art but sometimes the mags are a little too rough to coax anything out of them… Anything except maybe the worlds coolest bottle opener.

Every once in a while, Bad Element Co. turns tired old magazines that would otherwise be relegated to the trash bin into bottle openers. They are basically cut down to a size that you could almost consider carrying as a key chain and modified so that the spring, follower, and baseplate can be re-installed. Then a split ring is added so you can attach some keys. You use the feed lips to pry off the bottle caps with ease (it works, you can test it with your regular AK mags right now… go ahead).

The best part is that these bottle openers still work as a magazines! They will hold 1 round, lock into your AK, feed, and fire.

You can check out Bad Element Co. at their website. If you want one of these very limited bottle openers, your best bet is to watch their Instagram page for when they are available or get in touch directly.
