Crickett Precision Rifle

There is a genius walking the halls at Keystone Sporting Arms. They knew that if they took one of their popular Crickett youth rifles and dressed it up with a precision rifle chassis, we would all run to the gun store with cash in hand… for our kids, not ourselves… I mean, sure, we will shoot it once in a while… but mostly for the kids.

The upcoming CPR or Crickett Precision Rifle is based on the existing bull barrel model of the Crickett rifle. It sports a precision rifle chassis style stock with comb adjustment along with fore and aft rails for bipod and monopod mounting. The barrel is also threaded which will make protecting your kiddo’s hearing easier with the addition of a suppressor.

Honestly, the features don’t matter on this rifle. It has accomplished its mission of looking cool which is very important in a youth rifle. I can imagine that every dad that shoots precision rifle will want one of these for their kid and every kid whose dad shoots precision rifles will want one to be like him. That is priceless… but the CPR will set you back just over $300 though actual gun store prices may be lower.

Alien Armor Rail Guard

This is a product that I am surprised hasn’t been developed before now – a hand guard extension.

A company called Alien Armor is set to produce a product called Rail Guards that are sort of like a cross between a rail cover and a stand-alone polymer hand guard. It attaches to an existing hand guard via the side rails to serve as both a rail cover and to extend the length of the existing hand guard. If this attachment is robust enough, it could have some interesting applications.

The Rail Guard appears to feature M-LOK compatible slots or something very close. Even if they aren’t M-LOK compatible, direct-connect accessories like those from Impact Weapons Components would likely still work.

Alien Armor is already advertising broad compatibility for the Rail Guard. They state that it will fit many AR-15s, SCARs, Galil Ace, SIG 556, many AKs, the CZ Bren Carbine, ACR, XCR and more. Basically, if it has side rails on the hand guard, there is a chance it will fit.

The Rail Guard weighs 7 ounces. It is not available for purchase as of the time of this writing but may be available in as little as 3-4 weeks. Stay tuned for updates.

Warrior Poet Society

If you have been following JTT for a while, you will likely recognize John Lovell’s face from his work as a top notch trainer at our partner, Telluric Group. You should also get to know him from his Warrior Poet Society YouTube channel.

His channel is excellent and unique as far as I can tell in its range of topics. The channel covers topics like fitness, shooting, gear, along with training and mindset. It is this mindset component that really makes the channel stand out and this theme is woven throughout. I especially enjoy the character studies (Warrior Poet Profiles) of historical figures like King David.

This channel is worthy of your sub. John is knowledgeable, personable, and prolific so there is always something new to check out. Visit the Warrior Poet Society on YouTube.

Cloud Defensive Light Control System for Streamlight ProTac Rail Lights

Cloud Defense just gave us a little peek behind the curtain. They released this image of a prototype for a new version of their Light Control System for the Streamlight ProTac Rail 1 and 2 tape switches.

You can read our previous post regarding the Light Control System to learn more about but it is essentially a mount that fixes a tape switch to your rail in a way that is easy to activate, trim and well organized, and more durable than tape or hook/loop.
