RE Factor Tactical has introduced a new version of their popular Operator Band that incorporates Live Fire 550 Firecord because, duh, of course they did. It just make all the sense in their world. The 550 Firecord serves as a contrasting center strip in the appearance of the band and, in an emergency, it can be opened to access the inner tinder strands for fire starting. All other functions of the Operator Band remain intact in this new version.
RE Factor Tactical is now offering two stainless steel, credit card sized survival cards. The first is their Hostage Escape Card which includes tools deigned to be used for escaping illegal restraint. I have been able to personally test the components of this and they are functional though a bit rough which is to be expected with these types of cards.
The Wilderness Survival Card packs in a ton of features centered around food gathering, gear repair, and other functions.
Both cards are made in the USA and have standard 3.5″ x 2″ credit card dimensions so they can be carried easily.
RE Factor Tactical just restocked their Buttstock Tourniquet Holder and added two new color options: Ranger Green and Multicam. These holders attach to your carbine’s buttstock and secure most of the common TQs. The holder has two retention straps are joined by a cross piece that allows the user to quickly clear both straps at the same time in order to access the TQ.
Spool Tool announced their upcoming Fish & Fire cordage. It features a normal para-cord sheath wrapped around jute (for tinder), fishing line, the normal para-cord inner strands.
There are already similar products on the market but this type of cordage makes sense to be offered with the Spool Tool. The Spool Tool itself can serve as an improvised reel with the fishing line and the on board lighter can be used with the jute tinder. It should make for a very slick package.
Candles are useful parts of any survival kit. They can be used for light, heat, cooking, and as a flame extender for fire starting. EXOTAC’s new candleTIN Nano is easy to add to any kit thanks to it’s compact size and lightweight (less than 1 ounce). In spite of the small size, these little guys will still burn for 4 hours.
