Rainier Arms RUC Mod2
The Rainier Arms Urban Carbine or RUC was already a flyweight at just 6 pounds 10 ounces in weight. Then Rainier Arms put the RUC on a weight loss program and managed to shed 10 ounces. The result is RUC Mod2.
I like my AR-15’s to be as light as possible as long as it doesn’t affect performance. While some lightweight ARs game the scale by using lightened competition parts like bolt carriers and buffers, the RUC Mod still has everything you expect in a hard use AR-15 like an M16 carrier and H buffer. It even has a 15″ free float hand guard and still only weighs 6 pounds!

DRD Tactical G762 Semi-Auto Rifle
The new DRD Tactical G762 Semi-Auto Rifle has my attention for several reasons but one really stands out. It takes HK G3 magazines – as in high quality, readily available, surplus steel, less than $4 a piece HK G3 magazines. Like its P762 forerunner, it can be broken down/reassembled without tools and carried in a compact hard case or backpack.

Midwest Industries KeyMod Hand Guard for the Tavor
Midwest Industries is in the final stages of the production of their KeyMod hand guard for the Tavor. The new hand guard will features 2 rows of KeyMod attachment points on each side and a single, central row on the bottom. This hand guard will give the user the ability to mount their light on the inside of the hand guard so that the bezel sticks out forward of the hand guard.
FOSSA-556 – Now GEMTECH HALO Compatible
The FOSSA-556 (see the previous review) is now compatible with the Gemtech HALO suppressor. White Sound Defense tweaked its dimension very slightly. It is now VERY slightly longer in overall length but it sits back further on the barrel so the new version actually reduces the overall length of the host versus the previous version.
The leading edge has also been mildly reshaped to make it more effective at breaking glass which may be useful for some users.
Thankfully, the performance hasn’t changed a bit. It is still offers an incredible level of flash suppression with a side of muzzle control.
