Samson Range Box

I like plastic on a practical level but sometimes it is hard to beat things that are made from honest to goodness wood and steel. The new, limited edition Samson Range Box is constructed with pine and stainless steel right here in the USA. It is a throwback to a time before you can buy a plastic tackle box repackaged as a range box at your local big box.

The box features a large main compartment with a pull out organization tray that keeps your gear organized and lets you carry smaller items without having to carry the entire box. It also has rifle support ears that stow in the lid when they aren’t needed and can be used to turn the box into a portable workbench.

The Samson Range Box is available in Samson Gray and Bourbon Barrel Brown. Check it out at Samson.

BT53 SILO

Shooters have been using bean bags as barrier rests for years. Some even go so far as to bungee cord the bag to the fore end of their rifle or their bipod so that the bag moves quickly and easily with the rile. The BT53 SILO seeks to downsize the concept into something compact enough that can be mounted to the rifle full time.

SILO-1-alt

The BT53 SILO mounts to any standard Picatinny rail. The lower portion of the SILO features a compact bean bag that serves to absorb some of the shake out of barriers that aren’t perfectly stable. The front of the device is textured to serve as a barricade stop so that the rifle can be loaded into the barricade. The sides of the SILO feature rubber pads for bracing against vertical barricades and QD sling swivel sockets.

The SILO may not be for everyone but it could be useful for both competition and some forms of hunting where soft barricades are frequently encountered.

LANTAC KAM – A New Accessory Mounting Standard

KeyMod and M-LOK have both shown a lot of staying power and neither seems to be going anywhere soon. Now a new contender is emerging in LANTAC’s KAM (Key Accessory Mount). KAM is a patent pending and free to license attachment system. LANTAC claims it has various benefits, including lower cost to manufacture, over similar mounting systems.
