Manticore Arms CZ Scorpion EVO Slider Stock Prototype
Manticore Arms released an image of their latest Slider Stock prototype for the CZ Scorpion EVO. This most recent iteration should be close to the actual production stock that will go into production soon. I’ve always appreciated Manticore Arms willingness to support niche firearms with great quality accessories.
AK105 Style Gas Blocks in Production at DDI
DDI is cooking up all kinds of interesting things ahead of this year’s SHOT Show. They will be set up in the NEXT area in booth N406. If you checkout their booth, you may be able to put eyes on the new AK105 style gas block that they are producing.
The AK105 style gas blocks incorporate the front sight into the gas block. Moving the front sight back to the gas block reduces weight and opens up interesting opportunities for the front end of the AK. That includes different muzzle devices and easier barrel shortening for both SBRs or permanently attached muzzle devices.
DDI is already showing off (pics below) an AK that makes the potential for such a modification apparent. Hopefully, they work the AK105 style gas blocks into their current production AKs. Better yet, it would be great to see a production AK with a 14.5″ barrel and permanently attached muzzle device on dealer shelves.

VG6 Precision EPSILON AK
VG6 Precision’s EPSILON muzzle device is now available for the AK-47/AKM. The EPSILON AK is a hybrid muzzle device that combines brake, comp, and flash suppressor functionality to reduce recoil, muzzle rise, and flash. It is machined from 17-4PH stainless steel and nitride finished.

Blue Force Gear ULoop
The ULoop from Blue Force Gear is a new sling mounting accessory that was first debuted on the AK Sling Version 5. The ULoop is similar in appearance to Blue Force Gear’s UWL in that is has a coated steel cable loop and sling attachment point. However, the ULoop takes an evolutionary step beyond the UWL by allowing the user to open and close the steel cable loop.
This unique functionality makes the ULoop a suitable replacement for snap hooks, HK style hooks, and more. It is quieter and less prone to accidental opening than steel hooks like the HK style hook. It is also easier on the sling webbing than stamped steel sling hooks.
The ULoop is perfect for use on the AK’s front sling attachment point, FN SCAR sling attachment points, or any other rifle with small, loop style sling attachment points. It may also be useful for improvising sling attachments by looping it through holes in a hand guard or buttstock. Like the UWL, I expect users will find many interesting ways to solve sling mounting problems with the ULoop.
