Tracer Tactical x Delta2Alpha Spetsnaz Shovel Cover

What do you get when you combine a shovel, a cooking utensil, an ax, a hammer, a melee weapon, and some ingenuity? You get the venerable Spetsnaz shovel. These tools are just as versatile today as they were when introduced which is why Tracer Tactical and Delta2Alpha have teamed up to develop a modern cover for this venerable old shovel.

The cover features 500D Cordura construction and is MOLLE compatible. It features a hard insert so you can keep the edge of your shovel sharpened without fear of cutting the cover. The image above is a prototype. The production version will have a Fastex buckle closure.

Pre-orders are open now but they will be closing soon.

NIXIEWORKS LFR (Lightfighter Rig)

The NIXIEWORKS Lightfighter Rig or LFR is a load-bearing harness combined with an integrated lumbar pack. This large-capacity LBE concept can be extremely useful for a variety of pursuits like back-country travel or preparedness.

The LFR is functional out of the box thanks to the large lumbar pack complete with integrated water bottle sleeves. It is also easily scalable for a variety of specialized uses thanks to a wide, MOLLE-compatible belt allowing for the addition of pouches, holsters, and other items.

I appreciate the amount of information and instruction NIXIEWORKS has provided around the LFR and highly recommend that you check out their website if this is something that interests you. The LFR is hand-made to order in the USA. They are available in a variety of colors and camo patterns. The components of the kit can also be purchased separately.

Esstac Chicom 7.62 Triple AK Chest Rig

If you have been following JTT for long, you know I’m a sucker for modernized versions of historic gear. The Esstac Chicom 7.62 Triple AK Chest Rig certainly scratches that itch.

This chest rig has a shape that clearly invokes the Chicom Type 56 chest rigs. However, canvas, buttons, and flaps have been replaced with modern laser-cut laminate materials, open-top magazine pouches, and plenty of MOLLE-compatible surfaces. The pouches feature Esstac’s well-known KYWI insert for retention.

Fehu Outdoors Angled Radio Pouch

The Fehu Outdoor Rangled Radio Pouch allows users to mount a radio on a PALS grid in an angled orientation. This is ideal for carrying a radio on something like a Hill People Gear Kit Bag or other applications where moving the antenna out of the way or a reduced height footprint can be beneficial. It is so ideal, in fact, that Hill People Gear carries this product.

The Fehu Outdoors Angled Radio Pouch fits a variety of radios thanks to its elastic construction (7″ x 3″x 1.5″). It is made in the USA.

Sewjourn Gear Minute Man Bag

I’m a sucker for a good bandoleer or fighting bag. This useful gear item is largely underappreciated and, in my opinion, would be more broadly useful to many people than something like a dedicated chest rig or belt rig. So, when John at UW Gear brought the Sewjourn Gear Minute Man Bag to my attention, I knew I would have to cover it here.

The Minute Man Bag is a “quick grab and go bag to be kept by your rifle”. The interior is large enough to hold essential support items like rifle mags, a water bottle, IFAK, and potentially more. To support this mission, the backside interior of the bag is lined with loop Velcro so that the inside is easily configurable.

If you have ever used a bag like this, you’ll know that it can be frustrating when the bag does not have enough structure to hold its shape. The Minute Man Bag is constructed in a way that it will hold its shape, making it easier to retrieve and stow the contents.

The bag also includes a removable, supplementary stabilizer strap. When installed, which can be done quickly, this strap locks the bag in place on the wearer to minimize the bag’s movement while the wearer is active.
