I’m such a sucker for modernized classic gear. Parashooter Gear’s Type 56M and Type 81M are instantly recognizable as classic Type 56 and Type 81 chest rigs but with modern materials, modern color options, and modern functionality.
Type 81M
Both chest rigs are made from 500D Cordura Nylon and are available in a variety of colors. They feature flap covered pouches with Parashooter Gear’s cleverly simple bungee and button closure. The Type 56M and Type 81M chest rigs remove the small general-purpose pouches of the originals in favor of PALS webbing so the end-user can use their own pouches.
Type 56M with H-Harness
Both chest rigs come with a simple 1″ webbing X-harness. An optional, upgraded H-harness is also available.
True North Concepts just released their latest product, the Modular Holster Adapter. This mid-ride holster plate for Safariland 3-hole pattern holsters brings a lot of functionality for duty and battle belts.
From True North Concepts:
The Modular Holster Adapter was specifically designed to eliminate the unwanted movement, flex and sliding common to factory polymer belt adapters. The Modular Holster Adapter is made from rugged, non-ferrous DFARS grade 6061-T6 aluminum and is Type 3 MIL-SPEC hard coat anodized.
It supports the popular “Mid-ride” mode of carry to lower the pistol below the shooters belt line, allowing their holster system to clear body armor and pouches. This adapter fits all “three hole” pattern Safariland™ type holsters, and other brands of holsters that use this proven method of attachment. It also supports the use of many commonly used quick detach holster systems such as the QLS, MLS, ELS, and others. Holsters mounted to the Modular Holster Adapter will accommodate 10° of forward cant and 10° of negative cant for a total range of 20° degrees. The adapter holds three height mounting points, set 1/2″ apart, descending from the top mid-ride mounting point.
Rigidity is key:
The adapter includes belt mounting bars which are sized and spaced for use on MOLLE type battle belts, by threading each bar through the belts PALS webbing. This application works extremely well on narrow, minimalist type battle belts such as those from Ronin or Tyr Tactical. Alternatively, these mounting bars can also be directly bolted to any standard gun belt up to 2 ¼” wide. When properly installed on your gun belt, the adapter will not move. All unwanted movement, slipping and sliding has been removed from your system. The Modular Holster Adapter includes top mounting points for using a wide array of popular quick release belt mounts such as the Tek-Lok™ and polymer MOLLE type hardware. Each Modular Holster Adapter comes with a complete hardware kit of various sized screws, posts, spacers and threadlocker for mounting.
The adapter is available in Black and Dark Earth anodized finishes.
This product holds a lifetime, “No questions asked” free replacement guarantee.
The military pack whisperers at OV Innovations are cooking up something new for the venerable ALICE Frame. Their new pack handle is moving from development to production and they shared a teaser image that really shows off how streamlined and integrated it appears to be.
With a name like Prison Pocket, it has to be good. Lunar Concepts will release their Prison Pouch sometime in the next week. This simple pouch has a sleek shape and versatile attachment system that makes it well suited for storing small items directly on a rifle sling.
The pouch is laser cut and has a simple hook and loop closure. It attaches to multiple sizes of webbing via overlapping pieces of One-Wrap sewn to the back of the pouch.
The Prison Pouch is sized to hold a pair of CR123A batteries, a pair of AA batteries, a single 18650 battery, or other small items like ear plugs.
These will be available initially from Wise Men Company: WiseMenCompany.com
Arbor Arms just introduced the Ambush Belt and it has a very clever trick. It is fully MOLLE compatible… while also being thin enough (.2″) to pass through the belt hardware of a duty holster!
From Arbor Arms:
The AMBUSH BELT™ is a minimalist MOLLE belt that is very lightweight, extremely low-profile but still stiff enough to support a fighting load. The AMBUSH BELT™ was designed for users that require the lowest profile system possible but still desire the stiffness and stability of a layered belt system. The AMBUSH BELT™ is the thinnest MOLLE belt on the market at just under .200 inches thick, and at the incredibly low weight of 6.2 oz*. The AMBUSH BELT™ also features our Double Reduction Cinch System that allows the belt to be tightened easily while worn for perfect stability and comfort. The AMBUSH BELT™ features our innovative “Half MOLLE” design that allows additional modularity and customization of the belt configuration while still remaining extremely durable thanks to its Laser cut laminated construction.
