Hypalon Liner Belt from Snake Eater Tactical

If you use an inner/outer belt set up, I have good news. Snake Eater Tactical has made the excellent inner belt that they use in their SET War Belt available for purchase separately.

I have been using the SET War Belt over the winter and have really come to like the inner belt. It is made from a thin layer Hypalon with loop Velcro sewn to it instead of a piece of webbing with bound edges like most inner belts. The Hypalon Liner Belt is extremely thin and flexible which means it is extremely comfortable under a weight bearing belt.

There is no buckle. The belt overlaps onto itself and secures with Velcro. This is not unlike most inner belts. However, the Hypalon Liner Belt has some extra insurance to prevent it from working loose over time like typical inner belts. It has a fold over section that wraps all the way around the belt to really lock it down.

The Hypalon Liner Belt may not be the sexiest part of the SET War Belt but it is one of the best. It is great to see this offered separately. Now if I could just talk them into selling the great pad that they use in the SET War Belt separately, the wold would be a better place.

MSM Dives Deep into Urban Grey

It seems every gear maker is rolling out grey in some flavor or another. However, greys seem to vary greatly across manufacturers and there is no real standard for what Urban Grey should look like. Some manufacturers even seem to be offering rebranded Foliage Green!

Enter the Monkey. Mil-Spec Monkey recently posted a very interesting look at how to build a better Urban Grey. He seeks to find a neutral color that splits the difference between the warm and cool greys often found in an urban environment. It will be interesting to see if any manufacturers can act on what the Monkey found.

I should also note that this article and series of images will give you a new appreciation for the versatility Tan499.

Multicam Arid at UW Gear

Multicam Arid is now available as a color option across UW Gear’s entire line. UW Gear always does quite a bit of testing before they add a new camo option and they have hinted that this pattern is more versatile that people think. Hopefully that means we have one of their camo test photo series to look forward to.

It has not been added to the website yet as an option but it is available. If you do not see Multicam Arid as an option when you are purchasing your gear, choose regular Multicam and make a note in the order comments or send an email after your order.

RE Factor Tactical Newton Bag

The RE Factor Tactical Newton bag is designed to discreetly carry a variety of tactical party favors but it looks like a fully functional computer bag… because it is a fully functional computer bag.

Many of the elements of the bag have been designed with a dual purpose, both common and covert. Innocuous looking pouches under the front flap are sized to hold magazines. Panels can be removed to expose MOLLE webbing. The laptop compartment is sized to hold a laptop… or an MP5K. Elements like these are found throughout the bag.

The 9-5 office crowd is not necessarily the market for this bag (unless your office is an international airport on a protection detail) but I can see a lot of crossover appeal with regular guy concealed carriers. This bag is like a Transformer. There is definitely more than meets the eye. Read more about the Newton Bag at RE Factor Tactical.
