V7 Weapon Systems Ultra-Light AR-10 Port Door
V7 Weapon Systems is continuing their crusade against unnecessary ounces and they have turned their attention toward a new rifle – the AR-10. Their new V7 Ultra-Light AR-10 Port Door weighs in at 9 grams which is about 45% lighter than a typical AR-10 port door. It is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and hard anodized. It certainly doesn’t shed much weight on its own, but I suspect we will start to see more and more lightweight AR-10 parts from V7 that could be part of an overall weight reduction strategy.

Return of the Beretta 92G
If you are a fan of the Beretta 92, this will make your day. Rumors have been flying for months and I am glad to be able say… The Beretta 92G is back!

The 92G was arguably the finest variant of the venerable Beretta 92. It featured the heavier Brigadier slide but, most importantly, it’s slide mounted lever was a decoker only – not a safety. This helped to mitigate one of the most common issues with the 92 series which is that the shooter would inadvertently activate the safety while manipulating the slide. This simple but important change makes the 92G so sought after that there is a small but steady cottage industry set up around converting the 92FS to 92G configuration.
The 92G has already shown up at one retailer – Bud’s Gun Shop. It is listed at Lipsey’s and it is also starting to pop up on Gunbroker. I believe these are a limited release so, if you want one, act fast.
Sharp Bros. Warthog Preview
The Sharp Bros. Hellbreaker AR-15 lower receiver was a lot of fun. The upcoming Warthog lower might be even more fun!
The Warthog is Sharp Bros. current project. They have been working on it since SHOT Show and have shown renders of it previously. This is the first time we have seen it in the flesh. The announcement regarding the Warthog’s availability should come in the next couple of weeks.
I can’t wait until someone creative gets their hands on one of these and paints it in the style of aircraft nose art!
