Magpul Pro700 Rifle Chassis

Magpul Pro 700 Rifle Chassis

Kicking off 2018 is the announcement of the Magpul Pro 700 Rifle Chassis.  At the very start of our bolt action program – and even from the earliest days of Magpul precision rifle training – we knew that the ultimate goal was to build the best possible “no limits” rifle chassis in the world.  After years of design, prototyping and testing, and guided by Magpul Core and other accomplished shooters from military, law enforcement, and competitive backgrounds, it’s time to show our hand.

The Magpul Pro 700 Rifle Chassis is an uncompromising, full featured precision rifle chassis for short action Remington 700 actions and other Rem 700 footprint actions.  The Pro 700 combines innovative engineering, precision machining, MILSPEC quality finishes, and an extensive list of purposeful design features with complete adjustability to provide demanding end users with the most comprehensive available precision rifle platform solution for true out of the box performance.

Based on a full billet aluminum skeleton and clad in Magpul polymer for environmental comfort, noise mitigation, and ergonomics, the Pro 700 is also fully ambidextrous.  Capable of fitting both right and left handed actions with the simple swap of a bot-cutout plate, and with a reversible cheek riser and reversible hinge on the folding version, “lefties” haven’t been left out.

Sneak Peek: Surefeed to Release E2 Magazine – Metal Mag with Grip Texture, Low Friction Feed Lips, and More

Surefeed Magazines (Okay Industries) is set to release a new aluminum AR-15 magazine with a host of unique and functional features.

From Surefeed:

New Britain, CT –Okay Industries, the world’s most experienced AR magazine manufacturer, has introduced the SureFeed E2 magazine. This evolution of the SureFeed 30 round product line is the result of over 45 years’ experience manufacturing M16/M4 magazines for the U.S. military. Patented feed lip design, textured side panels, a new anti-tilt follower, and caliber markings complete the evolution for Okay’s new SureFeed E2 magazine taking it to the next level for handling and performance.

SureFeed E2’s patented feed lips dramatically increase reliability by decreasing the force necessary to strip the cartridge from the magazine. This low friction feed lip design helps the rifle continue to function when dirty or fouled with carbon. An industry first for metal magazines, the textured side panels of the SureFeed E2 have been designed to improve handling even with wet or cold hands or while wearing gloves. Okay’s textured pattern is aggressive enough to provide a positive, secure grip without interfering with insertion or removal from magazine pouches. Also an industry first is an embossed “5.56MM” marking on each side for quick an easy caliber identification.

SureFeed® E2 magazines are 100% made in the U.S.A. with components that meet or exceed demanding Mil-Spec requirements. The magazine bodies and floor plates are made from lightweight 6061 aluminum and heat treated to U.S. military specifications for strength and durability. All magazines are hard coat anodized and available with either a Mil-Spec DFL (dry film lube) grey finish, Tactical Black PTFE finish or Desert Tan PTFE finish. Our anti-tilt, self-lubricating, non-hygroscopic polymer follower and high-performance Mil-Spec stainless-steel spring keep rounds properly aligned and tensioned for flawless performance.

Reliability is the most important quality for any magazine. Okay Industries achieves this reliability through extensive quality controls. Every magazine goes through an exhaustive battery of Mil-Spec inspections and tests before being shipped. Some of the areas tested include weld integrity verification, feed lip tolerance and component quality verification. This all leads up to final assembly where proprietary qualification of each magazine is 100% tested for fit and function. This proprietary inspection and testing process results in the superior quality of SureFeed® magazines and is the reason Okay Industries has been an authorized supplier to the U.S. Military since co-developing the original USGI 30rd magazine in 1973.

SureFeed® E2 magazines are now available in 30 round capacities with an MSRP of $19.95. For more information visit www.surefeedmagazines.com or the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/surefeedmagazines

5col Survival Supply Attachenator Kit

5col Survival Supply’s Attachenator Kit is now available. This clever kit comes with everything you need to attach all kinds of gear to a PALS grid, a backpack, your belt, and more.

The kit includes:

  • 4 ITW GTSP Cordlocs
  • 5 ft. 1/8″ diameter Shock Cord
  • 5 ft. MIL-C-5040h Type 3 Parachute Cord

This kit can be very convenient for the guy who doesn’t already have these components on hand. In order to piece together a kit like this, you would have to buy all the separate components in bulk which not everyone wants to do.

I have used these same components to do all kinds of things like:

  • Mount a TQ to a PALS grid
  • Attach trekking poles to a backpack
  • Attach water bottles to a backpack shoulder strap
  • Make a strap for managing a sling on a rifle
  • Make retaining straps or a grid for securing bulky outerwear to a pack
  • Make adjustable dummy cords for gear like a compass

Mission Spec Releases Four New Products Just Before Shot Show

As we move into Shot Show 2018, Mission Spec is releasing four new nylon products – available immediately.

The MagRack5™ chest rig supports three 5.56mm magazines and two laser-cut PALS wings for attaching other essential items such as pistol ammunition, radio, or IFAK. Magazines are bungee retained. Magazine pouches are fully compatible with Haley Strategic MP2 Mag Pouch Inserts.  The MagRack5 also comes equipped with two tourniquet holders and a loop Velcro field for identification.  The unit can be used as a stand-alone piece of gear with the aid of the RackStraps™ (either Standard or Enhanced model) or can be integrated into a plate carrier such as the Mission Spec EC2™ or AC2™.  The top horizontal GTSR buckles can be moved between the 90-degree and 45-degree positions for better integration options between plate carriers and RackStraps, respectively. Dual 550 cord loops hang under each outer magazine pouch for chem-light storage. A 7.62mm version (MagRack7™) is scheduled for release later in 2018.

The RackStraps™ integrate with the MagRack5 or other industry standard chest rigs. The Standard model offers a low profile and less expensive option while the Enhanced model gives the user the added benefit of closed-cell foam padding and airmesh to reduce shoulder fatigue.

The Armor Carrier 2 (AC2)™ is an even lighter weight version (~22.8 ounces) of the Mission Spec Essentials Carrier 2 (EC2)™. Removing the standard PALS grid and replacing it with loop Velcro makes the AC2 a great plate carrier choice to integrate with a chest rig (such as the MagRack5 or other industry standard rigs). All other features are identical to the Mission Spec EC2. The AC2 is fully compatible with other Mission Spec accessories such as the ShoulderSavers™ mk3 and FlankSavers™.

All four items are available in a large variety of solid colors and camouflage patterns. All Mission Spec items are 100% designed, tested, and manufactured in the United States with US-sourced components and are Berry Compliant.
