Dueck Defense DFR Glock Rear Sight

The Dueck Fixed Fear (DFR) is the latest product to be released by Dueck Defense. This Glock compatible rear sight features a rear sight notch that is 20% deeper than typical sights which Dueck Defense claims gives “your eye a longer window of light but still narrow enough for precise aiming.”

The DFR also has a clever hooked design that makes it easier to operate with one hand by hooking the sight on your belt or holster. There are other hooked sights on the market but Dueck Defense has gone to great lengths to completely remove the sharp edges that would typically be found on such sights.

To say that Larry Vickers knows 1911s is an understatement. He knows their history, their mechanics, their operation, their application, the people who make them, and the people who collect them. There may not be anyone living who can speak with more authority on the 1911 and that is what makes his newest book, Vickers Guide: 1911, so exciting.

This is a proper coffee table book. It is chocked full of a amazing photography, technical data, and historical context for some truly rare 1911s. All of this is wrapped up in a package that conveys the permanence, status, and weight of the 1911 itself.

Now Shipping: Magpul Tejas Gun Belt “El Original”

Now for something completely different… Magpul is now shipping the Tejas Gun Belt “El Original”.

The Tejas Gun Belt “El Original” may seem out of character for Magpul but, when you check out the details, it is clear that Magpul did Magpul things all over this belt. The belt is constructed from top grade bullhide leather with polymer reinforcement. The layers of leather and polymer are bonded via adhesive and sewn together for durability. The belt features very cool custom hardware that allows the user to change the buckle without tools. It is available in 3 colors.

Magpul’s website indicates that this is the first in a line of belts so stay tuned.

Volquartsen M&P 15-22 Exact Edge Extractor

I have had very good results with Volquartsen’s Exact Edge Extractors, especially in rimfire rifles. Now they are making a new version for the popular S&W M&P 15-22.

The Exact Edge Extractors are EDM cut from A2 tool steel. They are hardened. Volquartsen optimizes the geometry to improve extraction and I have been able to use these to improve extraction other finicky rimfire rifles.
