Ruger American Rifle Predator

The Ruger American Rifle is one of the best values on the bolt-action centerfire rifle market. The new American Rifle Predator is the latest addition to the line.

The American Rifle Predator features a threaded, hammer forged barrel that varies from 18″ to 22″ depending on caliber. The trigger is Ruger’s Marksman Adjustable Trigger and the lightweight stock is bedded and allows the barrel to free float. The rifle feeds from a detachable rotary magazine.

I am a sucker for lighter weight, compact precision bolt-actions like these – especially when they are suppressor ready. This would make a great base rifle for a light precision project on a budget.

My friend recently bought a standard RA in .308 – it shoots very well. He paid a little more than half what I did for a Rem 700 AAC-SD (and that was before I bought the AICS 2.0).
Let me tell you, the Rem 700 is NOT 2x as accurate, even tho it is 2x the price.
I’m probably going to sell off the AICS and get one of these RA Predators in .223

Thanks for the feedback jmk. I am feeling pretty tempted to pick one of these up.
