Scalarworks is starting to nail down the details of their Low Drag Mount for the Aimpoint PRO and other 30mm red dot optics. They gave us a sneak peek of the upcoming mount which is expected to be released sometime near the end of July. The image below shows the interesting hinged ring design of the new mount. The mount, when finished, will weigh in at less than 2.5 ounces including the hardware.

When Larry Vickers asks if you can make fixed AR-15 sights. You make fixed AR-15 sights.
Two years ago I approached Scalarworks about making a set of fixed iron sights; what they came up with has exceeded my expectations. I’m now running Scalarworks iron sights and Aimpoint Micro mounts on my BCM carbine in all of my training classes. Scalarworks Low Drag Mounts and On Point Sights are the current state of the art. – Larry Vickers
We’ve been updating you on the progress of the On Point Sights from Scalarworks since the earliest prototypes saw the light of day. Now, I’m happy to report that they are now available to purchase and shipping immediately. These sights boast the skeletonized design that we have some to expect from Scalarworks along with other useful features like recessed knobs and toolless adjustment.

Easton, PA – April 11, 2017 – Scalarworks, manufacturer of high-performance firearm accessories, is pleased to introduce the Sync mount for Aimpoint Micro sights. The Sync is a low-profile optic mount that features an integral platform for the Aimpoint Micro line of red dot sights – as well as Micro compatible clones.
The Sync allows an Aimpoint Micro sight to be co-witnessed without obstructing one’s sight picture, and is the only optic mount for shotguns to be attached with 4 screws, thanks to our proprietary key-slot internal mounting system (Patent pending). The Sync is CNC milled from ultra high-strength 7075-T6 Hard coat anodized Aluminum, and weighs a mere 0.69oz (including custom CNC turned fasteners).
The Sync is compatible with all factory drilled and tapped Benelli shotguns, as well as most other shotguns with some gunsmithing. A drill and tap guide is available for download on our website.
The Sync is made in the USA, includes a limited lifetime warranty, and is available now from Scalarworks.com.

You may remember the sneak peek of early prototype sights from Scalarworks that we showed months ago. Now we have a look at a more refined, closer to production set of these sights.
The front sight is radically skeletonized like you would expect from Scalarworks and weighs .94 ounces. The photo shows it’s tool-free elevation adjustment via a thumb wheel under the front sight post.
The rear sight is also skeletonized and weighs 1.35 ounces. It also features tool-free adjustment via a cleverly designed, dished wheel that prevents the accidental turning that can happen with some rear sight drums.
Stay tuned for pricing and availability. Keep an eye on Scalarworks.com.
Scalarworks is developing a set of fixed back up iron sights and their Aimpoint PRO (or other 30mm RDS) Low Drag Mount could be ready as early as May of this year. The image below is chocked full of teasers.
Scalarworks has shared that the sights do not make use of their ratcheting thumb wheel QD feature as QD is unnecessary for back up sights. However, the sights obviously show the same penchant for minimal design and extreme skeletonization found on other Scalarworks products like the LDM series of optic mounts.
