Ballistic Advantage has released a video that shows the attributes of their Performance Series barrels. If you have questions about the 3 different series of barrels in the Ballistic Advantage line, this is a good way too see how they differ.
Ballistic Advantage’s Modern Series AR-15 barrels are among the best values on the market. Their new video gives you some insight as to why that is. The basics are that these barrels are standard profiles rendered in 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel with desirable twist rates and are QPQ finished (salt bath nitride processing) throughout.
It is worth noting that Ballistic Advantage QPQ finishes the barrels separately from the barrel extensions. This is important because if this process is completed with the barrel extension installed, the heat can cause the extension to loosen. There have been many cases of loose barrel extensions from barrel makers who do not understand this.
Almost all of these barrels retail for well under $200 and come with a 1 MOA guarantee. Check them out at Ballistic Advantage.
Ballistic Advantage has introduced the line of 9mm AR-15 barrels that they teased last week. All the barrels are in their “Modern Series” which is their most affordable type of barrel. They are offered in 5.5″, 8″, 11″, and 16″ lengths.
It looks like Ballistic Advantage will be adding another caliber to their AR-15 barrel lineup. The video below is just a teaser. Stay tuned for more details.
If you are interested in starting your own 7.5″ AR pistol or SBR build, this barrel will be tough to beat. The BA Hanson barrel profile is well designed and Ballistic Advantage is very conservative with the gas port on these barrels. All that coupled with the fact that it comes with a pinned low-profile gas block and the Barrel of the Week sale price make this a very tempting deal.
