My friend Sven, owner of Manticore Arms, put up a solid review of his custom IOTV armor carrier from Beez Combat Systems. He gets into the details of how BCS’s custom carrier creation works and all of the little things that they do to make their carriers great. BCS makes a ton of nice gear but their custom carrier creation is one of the coolest things they do.
CORTAC CTAV
Wearing armor is not comfortable. Even the most comfortable and breathable plate carrier in not really all that comfortable and it will make it harder for your body to shed heat. The CTAV (Cooling and Trauma Attenuating Vest) from CORTAC seeks to makes armor just a bit more tolerable.
The CTAV is a set of panels that can be affixed to the interior of any armor carrier, between you and the carrier. CORTAC claims that system increases airflow, cooling, comfort, and provides additional blunt trauma protection. According to CORTAC, the CTAV can reduce the surface temperature of your armor carrier by as much as 9.1 degrees. Comfort is further enhanced by the wicking and quick evaporating properties of the CTAV.
The CTAV certainly sounds good on paper, especially if you tend to run hot like I do. Check out the CTAV at CORTAC.
PHLster Blaster Holster Auction for the MARSOC Foundation
The PHLster made Blaster Holster that I mentioned recently is now being auctioned to benefit the MARSOC Foundation (25% of the proceeds go to the charity). The holster may look like it is made to hold Han Solo’s blaster, but it actually retains a Glock 19, 23, or 32. It is set up for a right handed shooter. It is signed and extremely limited – only one exists. Check out the auction on Ebay.
Slangvel SADF Paratrooper Helmet Cover
Slangvel makes some cool stuff but I am not sure he makes anything cooler than this helmet cover. It is modeled after the South African Paratrooper helmet covers with a flip down brim. He has adapted the design to fit the MICH/ACH helmet and similar. It also features a flap covered high viability ID panel at the rear.

M845 Mk.4 Gen 3 from TNVC
TNVC’s M845 Gen 2+ is already pretty well known as a high value night vision rifle scope. Now they are one-upping themselves with the introduction of the M845 Gen 3.
The M845 Mk.4 Gen 3 has much of what made the Gen 2+ version great. It has a 2.8X magnification, 2 MOA red dot reticle, wide field of view, adjustable reticle brightness, and 1913 Picatinny rail compatibility.
