If you like automatic knives, there is a good chance you are already familiar with the budget auto that everyone loves, the Boker Kalashnikov. The Kalashnikov is popular because of its mix of snappy action and quality, budget-minded materials.
Now Boker has applied that same formula to a new design, the Burnley Kihon Automatic. Like the Kalashnikov, the Kihon features a flat-ground, drop point, AUS-8 stainless steel blade (3.25″) and a textured aluminum handle. The pocket clip is configured for right-side, tip-up carry only.
The Kalashnikov is a budget knife classic and the formula has been followed so closely again with the Kihon that it is almost certainly going to be a hit. The Boker Kihon Automatic is available at BladeHQ.com.
TOPS Knives is now offering a new optional upgrade for the Fieldcraft 3.5. They will grind the spine to a sharp 90-degree edge and include a firesteel for $25. The scraping edge is applied to the spine from just forward of the spine jumping, all the way to the tip.
Viking Tactics Bloodline Series of knives is available
for purchase directly through Viking Tactics and now through TOPS Knives as
well. VTAC’s founder, Special Operations SGM (R) Kyle Lamb, knows a thing or
two about tools and weapons. He wanted these knives to pay homage to different
warriors from different eras, and they do. Each of the knives in the series
includes two-toned handles, Viking vines on the spine, a fuller and TOPS’ famous
differentially heat treated 1095 steel. So
whether you’re looking for a large combat knife, a concealable mid-sized knife,
or a capable EDC, the Viking Tactics Bloodline Series has you covered.

Terrain 365’s new Mini-Butterfly represents a concept that is somewhat uncommon in butterfly knives – it is designed to actually be a useful everyday cutting tool. The knife was designed by Terrain 365’s Patrick Ma… yes, that Patrick Ma. It was then modeled and modified in CAD by Darriel Caston of D Rocket Design.
TOPS Knives just refreshed two of its classic knife offerings, the Street Scalpel and the Devil’s Claw. Both of these knives have served as popular, compact, self-defense oriented fixed blade knives in the TOPS line up for years.
Street Scalpel 2
The Street Scalpel has been around for quite a few years now. LEOs, active duty military, and everyday citizens love it because it’s narrow, easy to conceal, stout and strong, and looks great too. The Street Scalpel 2.0 has all the great features of the original, with some changes to offer variety (the original is not being retired). The handle has been slightly redesigned to offer more of a finger guard and the blade steel was thinned to 3/16” to offer a finer edge.
The Original Devil’s Claw was designed to be a deep conceal knife with a handle that is short on purpose for concealment in almost any outfit. Of course, the design was so reminiscent of karambits that it was only a matter of time before it got a makeover to become one. The hawk bill blade shape is a proven design for utility and defense tactics. The longer handle with the ring on the end provides the user with options that aren’t available with the original version (just remember the trade-off is that the new version is slightly more difficult to conceal).
