New Crimson Trace LG-637 and LG-639 Glock LaserGrips

I own 2 different models of Crimson Trace LaserGrips for my Glocks. Those include the wrap around style LG-400 series and the earlier backstrap style LG-600 series. The LG-400 series has a lower-profile diode module that interferes with slide operation less but I prefer how the LG-6XX series makes the Glock’s grip feel (they straighten the backstrap a bit, reducing the grip angle). I have often wished that I could combine the best of both styles and it appears that Crimson Trace has done exactly that with the introduction of the LG-637 and LG-639 with both red and green lasers.

The LG-637 and LG-639 fit the Gen3 Glock 17 (and similar) and Gen3 Glock 19 (and similar) respectively. They attach to your Glock’s backstrap via a provided, extra long locking block pin. The laser module appears to be smaller than that of the original LG-600 series LaserGrips and it is available with either a red or more daylight visible green laser. Additionally, the LG-637 and LG-639 feature a push-button master on/off switch like the LG-400 series LaserGrips.

These look like the best Glock LaserGrips yet! Check them out at Crimson Trace.

ETS Group AR-15 Magazines

Elite Tactical Systems Group is bringing a interesting new AR-15 magazine to market. Their AR15 Magazine, 30 Round With Coupler has a few features that I haven’t seen applied to AR-15 magazines before.

ETS Group AR-15 Magazine ETS Group AR-15 Magazine Coupled

The most notable feature is the coupling functionality. The magazines can be easily linked together in a way that is functionally similar to Sig 551 magazines though the locking method is different. The placement of the locking structures cause the magazines to be staggered which keeps the spare magazine well clear of the ejection port. There is no limit to how many of the mags can be linked though I would probably stick with just two.

There are other clear magazines on the market but ETS Group seems to be taking a different approach to correct the chipping and cracking issues that often plague clear magazines. Rather than adding metal reinforcement, they are using a polymer that is more flexible than most clear polymers and claim that their magazines are more durable than other notable polymer magazines. Hopefully, this is found to be true in independent testing as well.

These magazines also feature a removable dust cover and a very easily removed floorplate. They are also available without the coupler functionality.

TacStrike Poor Man’s Plate Racks

TacStrike has been on a mission lately to change the way you think about affordable steel targets. Their latest affordable creations are the Poor Man’s Plate Racks. It’s different than most plate racks in that the plates hang down rather than stand up and the plates react to hits by swinging rather than falling over.

The Poor Man’s Plate Racks consist of 3 main components: a base, a cross bar, and the target plates. The base is TacStrike’s 2 or 3 position Stake In Target Carrier which means it can also be used to hold targets. The cross bar has multiple hanging locations to accommodate the variety of steel target options that are offered with the Poor Man’s Plate Rack. It also comes with all the chain and snap links required to hang the plates but the user must provide the wood uprights.

The plates are TacStrike’s durable AR-500 steel. They’re 3/8″ thick and will last for years. The purchaser can select 1 of 4 target plate options: dropped steel swingers (roughly 5″x5″), 8″ circles, 10″ circles, or 12″ circles.

The price of the Poor Man’s Plate Racks varies based on the size of the rack (2 position or 3 position) and the size of the plates.
