Gear Spool has released their newest tool under a new brand – Quick Draw Self Defense. The Quick Draw Self Defense Tool (QDSD) is a very compact, simple “impact” tool that can be clipped into a pocket.
The QDSD is made from stainless steel square stock. The square stock is formed into a large finger ring and then onto itself in order to create a clip. This construction method makes the QDSD very simple with no moving parts. The point is pointy but not sharp according to the product page.
The user clips the QDSD in the location of their choosing. If needed, it can be accessed quickly via the finger ring. There are many tools on the market that are similar in principle (finger ring + point) but the simplicity and affordability of the QDSD set it apart.
Given Gear Spool’s experience with the Mighty Mini Bar – an ultra-compact titanium pry bar – I wonder if there will ever be a titanium version of the QDSD.
