This video review of the LWRC Six8 and new Federal XM68GD ammo was sent to me recently. It has everything I look for in a rifle/ammo review including: hog hunting from a helicopter, night vision, shooting of carcases through windshields, and some pretty slick gear. So, while the review may lack a little depth, it more than makes up for it by making me wish I was there. Know I want to shoot hogs from helicopters with LWRC rifles and Federal ammo.
Hat tip to Kyle “Red Beard” Moeller of Modern Pawn and Guns for sending me the video.
Although I have never really been terribly interested a 6.8 rifle, this one is definitely well engineered. The attention to detail with all the ambi controls is something that I think should be standard on an AR(or any rifle for that matter).
It is interesting that they were able to work with Magpul for the new mag. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come; engineering with Magpul, produced by an interested company.
Lastly, I really like what they did with the short stock (flat spring was probably their only choice with the shorter tube). I actually think this is a good option for other rifles with AR stock adapters(AK, VZ-58, etc)
