Tease: Ballistic Advantage AR-15 Lower Receivers

We still haven’t seen the full potential of the recent Aero Precision acquisition of Ballistic Advantage but we are about to get a little bit more of a glimpse of it. Ballistic Advantage will be releasing their own lower receivers shortly. This makes perfect sense considering they were acquired by a group with plenty of experience making uppers, lowers, and working as an OEM.

I can’t help but think this is just a preview of things to come. It seems to me that complete firearms can’t be too far behind since we know that they already have the required resources. As an owner of 2 Ballistic Advantage uppers, I hope that also means that they will offer complete upper receivers again soon.

Keep your eye on Ballistic Advantage’s website for interesting news. I expect there will be a lot it in the near future.

Stripped Upper Sale at Aero Precision

Whenever Aero Precision puts their blemished uppers on sale, I take note. If you plan to build an AR any time soon or even if there is just the seed of a new build idea knocking around in your head, you won’t want to miss these $44 Stripped Uppers. They are “blemished” but I own a few of these and have seen several more that you can barely tell where the blemish is supposed to be. This is a very affordable way to start your next build.

Aero Precision AR-15 Lower Gen. 2

Aero Precision’s stripped lowers are already my go to lower for AR-15 builds because they are a great value. The introduction of their generation 2 stripped lowers brings with it two new features that may make them an even better value.

The AR15 Stripped Lower Receiver, Gen 2 offers a tension screw hole that is used to tighten the fit between the upper and lower receiver. It also offers a more flared magazine well. The magwell flare is a great improvement over most forged lowers. I know of very few forged lowers that are flared to this extent, especially at this price.

Other than the two new features, they have everything else I like about the Aero Precision lowers like pictogram selector markings, no outlandish rollmarks, and 7075 aluminum construction with hard anodized finish. They haven’t reinvented the wheel and that is a good thing because these lowers still retail well under $100.

Aero Precision 300BLK Uppers

Aero Precision now offers AR-15 uppers chambered in .300 Blackout. The uppers are built on Aero Precision’s M4E1 upper receiver and available with a number of different rail options. They are available with 8″ or 10″ barrels.
