Exos Defense Accuracy Stock Support

The new Accuracy Stock Support from Exos Defense is now available. This part is designed to be used in conjunction with their excellent TI-7 buttstock. The TI-7 is a good choice for precision AR-15s thanks to its solid lock up on the receiver extension and enhanced cheek weld. Now, with the addition of the Accuracy Stock Support, it has a clubfoot style rear gripping area for front supported shooting and a flat spot design to settle into a rear bag.

Dueck Defense Red Dot Adapter

The new Dueck Defense Red Dot Adapter (RDA) is a compact mount that bolts directly to your Dueck Defense RTS rear sight. It allows you to attach your Micro Aimpoint or compatible red dot in such a way that it achieves a lower 1/3 co-witness with the RTS sights.

It should be noted that this is designed to be used with the generation 2 versions of the RTS sights. To determine if your RTS rear sight is compatible with the RDA, check to see if the holes on the leading face of your rear sight are threaded. If they are threaded it will accept the new RDA.

ALG Defense 6 Second Mount for RMR

ALG Defense released a sneak peek of their upcoming 6 Second Mount for the Trijicon RMR. The images show a rapid prototype of the mount. It is similar in design to the current Aimpoint Micro compatible version with the obvious difference of accepting the RMR. The optic platform is also noticeably more compact and biased further forward which could clear more of the rear of slide for manipulations.

MI Introduces New Gen3 M-Series Hand Guards

Midwest Industries has released details of the new third generation of their popular one piece free float hand guards. The new hand guards carry over many features from the previous version and also add several improvements.

Like previous versions, they are very slim (1.5″ OD) and lightweight (see weights listed in image below). The new barrel nut has more aggressive knurling and does not need to be timed. The clamp mechanism that secures the rail to the barrel nut now uses an insert (patent pending “Torque Plate”). Other manufacturers like SLR Rifleworks use inserts to prevent over-tightening but MI’s Torque Plate does more than that. According to MI, the Torque Plate has several functions:

  1. It prevents over-tightening by limited the amount the hand guard can be compressed on the barrel nut.
  2. It engages the upper receiver to prevent rotation.
  3. It engages the back of the barrel nut to prevent the hand guard from moving forward on the nut.
  4. It aligns the hand guard during installation.

They are available in both KeyMod and M-LOK in 5 different lengths (see below).

Trijicon MRO Release

Trijicon has officially released their new MRO. This optic is one of the most exciting in recent memory if for no other reason than it is made in the USA. I have high hopes that Trijicon can make a compact red dot sight that is competitive in pricing, features, and functionality.

From Trijicon:

Wixom, Mich. – Trijicon® takes the science of the red dot sight to the next level with the Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic or MRO™, a red-dot sight tough enough for combat, the mean streets of law enforcement, competition shooting or hunting in the harshest of environments. Light and rugged, the Trijicon MRO mounts easily, zeros quickly and adapts to almost any shooting scenario.

With its large objective lens and shortened optical length, the MRO virtually eliminates the “tunnel vision” or tube-effect common to so many red dot sights. The 2 MOA dot is bright and crisp, and is perfectly sized for fast target acquisition at CQB distance out to extended ranges.

The MRO features eight brightness settings, including two that are night vision compatible, plus one extremely bright setting for use with lights or in very bright outdoor conditions. And, it gets an amazing five (5) years of continuous use on a single 2032 battery!

Half-minute adjustments with 70 MOA total travel allow for zeroing in most any configuration on a variety of platforms. What’s more, no special tools are required-windage and elevation adjustments can be made even with the rim of a 5.56mm casing. The brightness control atop is ambidextrous, so your shooting hand need not leave the fire control area. The MRO is parallax free, with infinite eye relief for quick and accurate engagement no matter your position.

Trijicon engineers built-and tested-the MRO to operate in temperatures ranging from -60F to +160F.  Waterproof to 100 feet, chemical and corrosion resistant, and housed in 7075-T6 Aluminum, the MRO can withstand the rigors of combat, sub-zero mornings on an ice-encrusted hunting stand or bouncing between stages during a competitive shooting event

The MRO. A compact and rugged aiming solution, perfect for real-world operators who need to get the job done-fast and accurately.

MSRP: $579 without mount; $629 with mount.
