20$Bandit Micro Kit

Today is the day. The 20$Bandit Micro Kit is finally here!

The 6″ by 4″ Micro Kit is basically a scaled down version of the Mini Kit MK-7. It gives you similar functionality but in a format that fits your back pocket. The internal layout is nearly identical except everything is scaled down in size. It still has the elastic closure strap so there is no Velcro and no zippers to deal with. The internal elastic loop organizer is still there along with the retention pouch that keeps everything from dropping out the bottom of the kit. Like its big brother it has a slip pocket behind the elastic organizer and a clear vinyl pocket on the opposite side of the full clam shell opening pouch. The exterior of the Micro Kit features a 4″ by 3″ loop field for adding patches or ID.

Today marks the initial “Early Bird” release of the Micro Kit. It will be available in any color you want as long as it’s Black and you can expect production to take about 4 weeks. If you get in on this Early Bird released, you will get your Micro Kit first and at a reduced price of $20 (normal retail will be $21.77).

One of the convenient features of the Mini Kit was the availability of a fully stocked first aid insert, the Mini Medic, that was designed to drop right into the kit. 20$Bandit has built the Micro Medic to bring the same convenience to the Micro Kit. The Micro Medic features the following basic first aid items:

  • (1) 3M Steri Strip (modern day butterfly bandage)
  • (1) 3-0 Nylon Suture Kit
  • (1) CELOX Homeostatic Agent (2g)
  • (4) Single use eye drops (refresh plus)
  • (1) Ampule Iodine
  • (1) Burn Jel (External Anelgesic)
  • (1) Hydro Cortisone Cream
  • (2) Triple Antibiotic Ointment
  • (4) Sterile Alcohol Prep Pad
  • (1) Splinter Out Lancet
  • (2) 1″ Sterile gauze pads
  • (1) Moleskin (Kidney shape)
  • (4) Knuckle Bandages

The Micro Medic will be available separately.

Make Ready with Freddie Blish: Intro to Combat Optics

This might be the most exciting Panteao Productions title yet. They will be releasing Make Ready with Freddie Blish: Intro to Combat Optics soon. Why should you care you ask? Great question.

freddie-blish-intro-combat-optics

You may not know it, but you likely know Freddie Blish’s work. He is probably more qualified than anyone to talk about combat optics. Panteao Production’s description of the video has a little to say about why that is:

Freddie is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Marine Corps, where he served 24 years. After his retirement from the Marine Corps, he served as the Director of Military Business Development for Aimpoint, Inc, where he developed an intensive training program on their use by the US Army Regional Training Center firearms instructors, US Army Mountain Warfare School, USAF Para-Rescue, and I Marine Expeditionary Force Advisory Training Teams.

It neglects to mention stints with LaRue Tactical, ROBAR, and as a Gunsite Range Master among other notable experience. He is also the creator of the Combat Optic Tool which is one of my favorite and most useful range gadgets. He is an authority of the subject of optics and should be able to drop some knowledge in a big way in this video.

More New M-LOK Accessories from Magpul

Magpul just released 4 new M-LOK accessories.

MLOK polymer rail

M-LOK Rail Sections, Polymer: As you might have guessed from the name, these are rail sections made from polymer. They are available in 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 slot lengths.

MLOK MOE Adapters

M-LOK to MOE Adapter Kit: This is likely the most interesting product of this release. These adapter plates are customizable for length and used to adapt the larger M-LOK holes to work with legacy MOE accessories. So, if you are sitting on a pile of parts for your old MOE Hand Guards but want to update to the new MOE SL Hand Guard, you may be able to use these to avoid buying all new accessories.

MLOK cantilever polymer

M-LOK Cantilever Rail/Light Mount, Polymer: This is just like the aluminum version but made from injection molded polymer. This one hurts a little because I just bought one of the aluminum ones last week and the less expensive polymer version would have worked just as well for my needs.

MLOK TNUTS

M-LOK T-Nut Replacement Set: If you break/mangle/lose/accidentally swallow your T-Nuts, you can buy replacements.

Check out all of the new M-LOK products at Magpul.
