Trijicon MRO Preview

Trijicon’s new MRO is going to make some serious waves in the red dot optic market if the rumors about it are true. Information sheets have been leaked from a number of a sources so, at this point, we know a lot about the physical attributes of the MRO. It boasts features like flush adjustment knobs, 6 visible light settings, 2 night vision settings, a 2 MOA reticle, and a large 25mm objective in spite of its compact size. It weighs just 4.1 ounces thanks to its 7075 aluminum housing. Perhaps most notable, is that the MRO will join a small and elite club of optic with 5 year battery life.

Rumors regarding availability indicate that it will hit the market around the end of the month. There has been contradictory rumors about the price with some saying it will have a $500 MSRP and some saying a $500 retail price. It will be competitively priced if either of the pricing rumors is true.

If all of the above isn’t enough to get you excited… This optic is made in Michigan, USA.

I am not sure yet but it appears to be a coin cell better like CR2032.

Looks like this might make up for the SRS failure.

I’ll stick with my Primary Arms Advanced Micro Dot. At $200 with the mount, compatible with most T1/H1 accessories and a 50,000 hr battery, should I manage to destroy one (I haven’t managed to yet) I can still spring for another and still have some ammo $$ left compared to the Trijicon.

Don’t get me wrong, if I was going back to Afghanistan or some other 3rd world shithole, I’ll spring for the high end stuff, but for the price these premium optics manufacturers want, it’s just not worth it for my purposes.

Yeah, why put a price on American pride and jobs when you can support cheaply made crap, huh? Not to mention reliability. Shit, I guess $200 is about as high as anyone should pay for security peace of mind. Don’t bother yourself with this sight, it’s for professional use anyway.

@!/+?$&?#!!!!!!! Right after I have just bought the aimpoint H2…now I have to build another rifle to so I can mount this.

    • Matt August 11, 2015 at 14:54 #

That’s the way it works. I have built new rifles for less of a reason than that!

It wasn’t leaked to several sources, one dealer decided to release the information on their own for their own personal reasons. The internet picked up on it, and it has spread like wild fire. The actual people who have them still have their mouths shut and aren’t talking.

Thank you for dropping in Stickman and thanks for clearing that up. I’ll look forward to hearing from those who have had hands on for some time now.

Would you recommend this for Ruger Gunsight Scout?

If you want to use a red dot on a bolt action .308, sure. I haven’t actually had an MRO in hand yet but on paper, it should work.
