Gunstruction has released the February 2016 User’s Choice Build and, as usual, it’s an interesting one. If you aren’t familiar with the User’s Choice Build, it is a virtual AR-5 built from the most popular parts from the previous month in each category of Gunstruction’s virtual AR building inventory. Basically, these are the parts that Gunstruction users chose most frequently for their builds.

As you can see, Gunstruction users chose the EOTech XPS3-0 most frequently from the optics category. In fact, EOTech has been the optic of choice going all the way back to September 2015 (August 2015 was a Trijicon ACOG). This has happened in spite of the very public issues with EOTech sights. There is often a disconnect between the firearm related media and the firearm related consumer. That appears to be the case here.

It’s also interesting that this build is nearly identical to the January User’s Choice Build which has never happened in the time I have been tracking these builds.

Think Gunstruction is only for ARs? Think again. The Gunstruction crew is putting the finishing touches on their Remington 700 building functionality. Soon, you’ll be able to virtually build your dream 700 action to preview weight, pricing, and appearance just like you can currently with AR-15s and AR308s.

December has come and gone and January is here. That can only mean one thing… It’s time for new User’s Choice Builds from Gunstruction.

Gunstruction’s User’s Choice Builds are comprised of the most popular parts from each category in their virtual AR building software. These builds reflect the parts that Gunstruction users selected most frequently for their virtual builds which makes it a interesting window into consumer trends… and there is always something interesting about these builds.

The most interesting thing in the December AR-15 User’s Choice Build is the inclusion of an EOTech sight in spite of their very public issues. It is also noteworthy that these builds always feature a Magpul grip.

The December AR308 User’s Choice Build continues the trend of treating the rifle as a semi-auto precision tool rather than a more general purpose battle rifle.
