Low Pro Poducts QD Offset Swivel Rail Mount

I like offset sling mounts because they work well with the types of slick sided, AR-15 free float hand guards that I prefer. These hand guards typically only have a top rail and that is where I prefer to mount my light, front sight, and sling. The offset sling mount can be mounted on a top rail but it projects the sling attachment point to the side where it can be utilized with a 2 point sling.

I’ve used several of these mounts but the Low Pro Products Offset Swivel Rail Mount is likely my favorite. It’s compact on the rail and weighs only .6 ounces. Low Pro Products machines these from a single piece of aluminum. They have an integral recoil lug and rotation limited QD socket.

Low-Pro Products Offset Surefire Scout Mount Updates

The Offset Flashlight Mount Surefire Scout was my first introduction to Low-Pro Products (all the way back before they were Low-Pro Products) and it remains my favorite. The mount has seen a couple of very important updates since my original introduction to it and I have found new ways to use it.

I’ll cover the new way I use it first. These mounts have a unique way of interfacing with the rail. They use a tension screw that sits in the cross slot and tensions the mount against the angled underside of the rail. This system is secure, strong, and forgiving of various rail specs. In fact, it is so forgiving that it can even be mounted on Weaver rails which is why I use one to attach a Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount Light to an XS Sight Systems Lever Scout Mount (image below).

Marlin 336 RDS and Light

AMS Machine, who produces the Low-Pro Products line, has updated the mount in two ways over the years. The newest versions of the mount have 2 tension screws instead of just 1 on the original mounts. They have also introduced 2 adapters that expand the capabilities of the mount. The Millennium Adapter Plate bolts onto the Offset Flashlight Mount Surefire Scout to allow it to accept Surefire Millennium series lights and the Scout Extension Bar allows both Scout and Millennium series lights to be cantilevered forward of the mount.

Low-Pro Products M1A / M14 Top Extended Rail 15″

The latest iteration of the Low-Pro Product’s extended top rail for the M1A/M14 is now available. The M1A / M14 Top Extended Rail 15″ are designed to be a direct replacement for the short 4″ forward rail that is found on the M1A Scout Rifles or you can modify your top handguard to allow it to mount on a standard M1A with standard barrel profile (not for use with a heavy barrel).

The rail provides a full 15″ of mounting space. It rums from the barrel clamp all the way back to the stripper clip guide where it securely mounts. This provides plenty of space to mount the optic of your choice regardless of eye relief.

The rail is milled down the center so that the iron sights are still usable. It is machined from 6061-T6 Aluminum and hard anodized. Check out the M1A / M14 Top Extended Rail 15″ at Low-Pro Products

Low-Pro Products Stubby Vertical Grip

I have reviewed Low-Pro Products’ Modular Vertical Grip in the past. It is a bomb proof grip with a really innovative integrated wrench feature (see the review for details). It is called the Modular Vertical Grip because it has a threaded tube section that can be removed to convert from a full size grip to a “stubby” sized grip. I basically removed/lost that section since I have no use for a full sized vertical grip and apparently I am not the only one because Low-Pro Products now offers it in a Stubby only version.

It is the same grip with the same great integrated wrench. It just doesn’t come with the threaded tube to convert it to full size and that saves you some money. Check out the Stubby Vertical Grip at Low-Pro Products.

Low-Pro Products Offset Flashlight Mount Surefire X-Series

IMG_2168Low-Pro Products makes several great rail mounted accessories like optic and light mounts. One of their newest is their Offset Flashlight Mount Surefire X-Series. As you might have guessed by the name, it is designed to mount a Surefire X-Series light, or other rail mounted lights like the INFORCE WML, offset to the rail on which you place the mount.

Their mounts do a great job of keeping the light close to the rail and have a simple and robust, set-screw style mounting interface. The mount interface is also aggressively skeletonized to strike a balance between durability and lightweight.
