CDM Gear BC47 AK Light Mounts – Now Available

The CDM Gear BC47 AK Light Mounts, that we recently gave you a sneak peek about, are now available.

These light mounts clamp to the barrel and provide a flashlight ring for for use with a 1″ diameter light. Their anti-rotation design ensures that they can not spin on the barrel and they have a hole to accommodate the cleaning rod.

There are two models available. The BC47-1 positions the light below the bore axis which may be more comfortable for those using a vertical grip. The BC47-2 places the light above the bore axis which may be more comfortable for those without a vertical grip.

AK Master Mount – No Mod, No Gunsmith AK Side Rail

If you have an AK that does not have a factory installed side rail for optics mounting, you may think you are limited to rear sight or gas tube based optics mounts. Maybe not…

The AK Master Mount touts itself as, “The “no mod” solution for those that want classic side mount optics on their AK styled rifles without a factory side rail.  This proprietary side rail can be attached in minutes, without permanent modifications, or the need for a gunsmith.”

It mounts via supplied pins that pass through the AK’s trigger and hammer holes in the receiver. AK Master Mount states that installation is easy, that the rail is solid and parallel to the bore, and that the shepherds crook is no longer required which is a nice bonus. The AK Master Mount accommodates a wide selection of receiver types including several milled and stamped varieties.

ALG Defense AKT-E Now Shipping

That ripping sound that you hear is the sound of AK shooters across the country pulling out their wallets fast enough to tear their back pocket. There is finally some news on the much anticipated ALG Defense AKT-E, an enhanced version of their AK Trigger (AKT). ALG Defense is in the process of shipping pre-ordered AKT-E units and it is already showing up at some retailers though is not available on ALGDefense.com as of the time of this writing.

On This Day in USA Made AK History – DDI Hammer Forged AK Parts

DDI (Destructive Devices Industries) has been testing USA-made, hammer forged AK parts including bolts, bolts carriers, and trunnions for a few months now. Apparently they have reached the point that they are satisfied with the results because they are moving forward with production as of today. The below images, posted this morning with the caption “It’s starting! Hammer Forged in the USA!”, show bolt carriers and trunnions in production.

It’s an interesting time to be an AK shooter in the USA.

CMC AK Trigger News

CMC hasn’t forgotten about the AK trigger that they teased last year. In fact, the good news is that they will be building, testing, and shipping to distributors as early as next week.
