1 Shot AK Magazines/Bottle Openers from Bad Element Co.

Bad Element Co. is like the AK Magazine Whisperer. He can massage a roughly machined piece of ComBloc steel into a work of art but sometimes the mags are a little too rough to coax anything out of them… Anything except maybe the worlds coolest bottle opener.

Every once in a while, Bad Element Co. turns tired old magazines that would otherwise be relegated to the trash bin into bottle openers. They are basically cut down to a size that you could almost consider carrying as a key chain and modified so that the spring, follower, and baseplate can be re-installed. Then a split ring is added so you can attach some keys. You use the feed lips to pry off the bottle caps with ease (it works, you can test it with your regular AK mags right now… go ahead).

The best part is that these bottle openers still work as a magazines! They will hold 1 round, lock into your AK, feed, and fire.

You can check out Bad Element Co. at their website. If you want one of these very limited bottle openers, your best bet is to watch their Instagram page for when they are available or get in touch directly.

Clever Kydex Retention Strap Concept from PYRENEES.TAC

French kydex bender, PYRENEES.TAC, is doing some very interesting things with kydex knife sheaths including this clever retention strap.

The shock cord strap wraps over the guard of the knife to act as a secondary retention aid. The sheath has a small stud that the strap hooks onto via a pull-tab that is molded to fit the stud. This is a very clever way to use standard, pre-existing hardware to create something new.

You can check out PYRENEES.TAC on their Facebook page.

Sneak Peek: Tyrant CNC Hand Stop

Tyrant CNC’s upcoming hand stop hasn’t exactly been a secret. They have been mentioning it’s impending release along side the development of their HALO Series Foregrip but now we finally get to lay eyes on it – or at least some in the white prototypes of it.

The new hand stop appears to take its design cues from the HALO Series Foregrip. It has the same angle and radically skeletonized design. The image shows three different versions that are being tested. It is shown attached to an M-LOK rail and, assuming it is like the HALO Foregrip, it will also be KeyMod compatible.

Stay tuned for release information.

Sneak Peek: Updated RMJ Tactical Shrike

When you picture an RMJ Tactical tomahawk in your mind, there is a good chance you picture the Shrike with its distinctive, drop forged construction. We reported months ago that the Shrike was going to see some changes and would be machined from billet rather than drop forged.

RMJ recently released a first look at the new machined Shrike (below). Everything that made the Shrike great is still intact. The thin tanto spike that easily fits inside the hasp of many padlocks is still there. The wicked sharpened beard is still in place. It also looks like RMJ used lightening cuts similar to other machined tomahawks in their line to preserve the Shrike’s balance.
