TacPack

Monthly subscription gift box are very popular right now. Typically, you pay a monthly subscription fee and a box full of mystery items is delivered to your door. The subscription service is able to provide a box that is worth significantly more than you paid because they work with manufacturers to procure promotional items or are able to secure low pricing on the basis of sheer volume. It seems that every industry has services like this now and the “tactical” world is not exempt.

TacPack is just one of the handful of subscription boxes in this space but they have caught my eye for the quality of the items that they are providing. Past box items have included RATS Tourniquets, small steel targets, EOS TiSharks, gun cleaning gear, Mechanix Gloves and other stuff you will actually use (except the TQ, hopefully you don’t need to use that… but definitely carry one). Their boxes cost $50 and they typically deliver a value 0f $70 or more according to TacPack.

I have checked out similar services before and it can be a lot of fun to rip into that mystery box when it arrives. Check out TacPack.

GunfightersINC Tac Ops Holster

Appendix carry is hot right now and GunfightersINC is at the forefront of appendix carry system development.

From GunfightersINC:

GunfightersINC introduces revolutionary new TAC OPS holster for the concealed carry market.

GunfightersINC strives to build products that push the envelope of design and make people ask, why didn’t we think of this year ago? Aiming to blend the best of Nylon, Kydex and other materials to make a dynamic carry solution, GunfightersINC looks at the current carry paradigms and works hard to challenge accepted presumptions about what is possible in holster design.

In the Kenai Chest Holster, they rethought the classic guide holster to be better with backpacks and waders in wet environments. In the Spectre they rethought the classic shoulder holster to have a smoother draw and optimum fit.
But being a constant innovator requires a company to continue to move forward at all costs. We turned our attention next to Appendix carry.

Appendix carry has both huge upsides and downsides depending on the end users level of training, fitness and body type. It is fast to draw, highly concealable and makes you feel like a covert operator. Some major downsides are concerns about flagging of sensitive and highly vital organs, lack of access when seated and discomfort for end users with more nutritional storage capacity.

Gunfighters took these issues into consideration and is proud to introduce the new TAC OPS holster. TAC OPS (which stands for Tactical Appendix Carry Optimized codPiece System) will make even the most skeptical detractor of Appendix Carry want to jump on board.

The base of the TAC OPS is 1000d denier nylon, able to withstand the rigors of day to day urban life. In addition to being an optimal way to carry a firearm, the TAC OPS will also prevent the end-user’s trousers from becoming stained with ketchup or bbq sauce. Easy to clean and highly durable, the TAC OPS will allow you to maintain the incognito “Grey Man” look easily.

To eliminate to dangers of swift removal of vital organs should the individual fumble the reholster, the TAC OPS features integrated Kevlar ballistic protection. Additional, the central placement of .08 Kydex on the outer shell of the TAC OPS reduces chances of blunt force trama to the operators vital organ. Tested for protection against both punted soccer balls and “sack taps” the TAC OPS has you covered.

To increase the level of comfort, the TAC OPS integrates a stretch nylon belt system. This system is not dependent on belt loops, allowing the individual to choose pants that match the environment. Headed to the local department store? Grab your favorite sweat pants. Headed to the beach? The TAC OPS with allow you to grab your favorite swim trunks without compromising on choice of firearm.

To reduce draw and reaction times, the TAC OPS features a user adjustable braided 550 Paracord retention strap. This strap aids the end-user in fast draws and also gives 2 meters of 550 cord for Bug Out or Survival situations.

While primarily designed for Open Carry, with the right concealment garment, the TAC OPS offers a low visual signature and due to the optimal appendix position the general public will not notice it anyways. If they do notice it, they’re bound to shrug it off as an athletic cup or perhaps even that you are a “real” operator with larger than average equipment to meet mission requirements.

JTT MFG LLC – LSFR Ultra-Light Barrels

This is two announcements in one. The first is that we have decided to move beyond just patches and stickers with the founding of JTT MFG LLC – a manufacturing division of Jerking the Trigger. We have a deep well of product ideas for the shooting and training markets and will be hustling to bring them to market.

JTT MFG LLC Ultra-Light Barrel

This rifle, using the new LSFR Ultra-Light Barrel, weighs just 3 pounds.

The first of those products is designed to fill a hole that currently exists in the stagnating lightweight AR-15 market with the introduction of LSFR Ultra-Light Barrels. Typically, barrel manufacturers attempt to reduce weight by removing material, turning barrels thinner and thinner. We took a different approach. Rather than using outdated materials like 4150 steel or a 400 series stainless, we were able take weight savings to the extreme by rendering our LSFR Ultra-Light Barrels entirely from long strand fiber-reinforced polymer.

We are working with a US based OEM to produce what we believe will be the ultimate in lightweight barrels. Designed to be carried (and photographed) a lot and shot a little, our 16″ LSFR Ultra-Light Barrel with midlength gas system weighs just 4 ounces. That is a full pound lighter than even the lightest steel barrels. Additional benefits include increased corrosion resistance, reduced thermal conductivity, and a proprietary surface finish that ensures that the barrels will always look great on Instagram.

These barrels will be available soon in standard lengths. Stay tuned to JTT for details and pricing.

MODERN BUDŌ Shirt – Breach Bang Clear

The rules state that all gun guys must wear gun t-shirts. Just go to the range if you want to see what I mean. If you find yourself woefully short on cool guy t-shirts, you could do a lot worse than the new MODERN BUDŌ shirt from Breach Bang Clear.

It’s pretty slick and you want one.

The Modern Samurai from Anachrobellum

For Immediate Release

Anachrobellum LLC

29 March 16 Broken Arrow, OK
Knife Hand the World is nine kinds of chuffed to let everyone know the Modern Budō (“Tactical Samurai”) design is in full production after the initial test run sold out in just a couple of days. The Samurai shirt, a part of the Anachrobellum lineup with the support of Breach-Bang-Clear, has proven to be the fastest selling one to date (including even the various versions of American Jedi).

The design is currently available only in black, in sizes ranging from Small to 3XL.

Why the Samurai? Of all the warrior archetypes in the world, none is perhaps more recognizable than that of the Samurai. The word Samurai is derived at least in part from the word saburau, which means “to serve.” That’s fitting enough, particularly in the modern context and even more so with regard to how we regard the warrior ethos. There’s nothing wrong with a little ego in a fighting man, quite the contrary — but if that ego is not subordinated to some sense of the greater good (serving your country, serving your community, sticking up for those weaker than you), well, then…you’re probably just an asshole and you don’t deserve to wear this shirt anyway.

This particular Samurai is carrying some things MInamoto Tametomo and Miyamoto Musashi wouldn’t recognize — Mk17, PEQ15, OSS Suppressor, S&S Precision Manta strobe and the like — but they’d understand the philosophy behind it.

“In China there was once a man who liked pictures of dragons, and his clothing and furnishings were all designed accordingly. His deep affection for dragons was brought to the attention of the dragon god, and one day a real dragon appeared before his window. It is said that he died of fright. He was probably a man who always spoke big words but acted differently when facing the real thing.” (Yamamoto Tsunetomo, c. 1700)

Pick one up at www.anachrobellum.com or find them on Instagram, @anachrobellum. Check out the Modern Viking version, and watch for our homage to Roger’s Rangers coming very soon.
