Bladerigs to Launch Line of Training Knives

There are a number of knives on the market that have merits for self-defense but that lack an available training drone. This can often happen because the manufacturer doesn’t envision the knife in a defensive role or they don’t take training seriously (or because drones just don’t sell in large numbers). Bladerigs will seek to fill some of that void for various popular fixed blade knives.

They are already showing off the first in the series – a training drone for the excellent and affordable CRKT Minimalist. These popular Alan Folts designed knives are extremely compact yet offer excellent retention thanks to their handle design. The introduction of this training drone will allow those who carry this knife to actually train with contact.

The Minimalist drone is currently available in a package that includes the training drone, a live blade, and a sheath. Check out Bladerigs for more details.

CORE Nano Adventure Wallet as Compact Entry Kit

This is pretty slick. Vigilant Gear posted a picture of how they use the CORE Nano Adventure Wallet from Triple 7 Gear/20$ Bandit as a compact entry kit organizer. Many people who live or work in urban spaces are adding lock bypass tools to their emergency preparedness kits and this looks like handy way to keep those tools organized.

To put this in perspective, the kit shown is smaller than a deck of playing cards yet it can bypass most common types of locks the urban survivor is likely to encounter. This kit is not being offered for sale as shown but you can build your own that is tailored to your needs/skill level. Most of the individual tools are available at Vigilant Gear.

Bladetech TekWrap – Lunar Concepts

Blade-Tech’s Tek-Lok are a versatile and secure belt attachment but if you have ever tried to use them on a stiff duty belt, you know that they can slip side-to-side on the belt. I have fixed this in the past by sandwiching a bit of bike tire inner tube between the Tek-Lok back plate and the belt itself. This approach worked to prevent sliding but the rubber collects grime and starts to deteriorate over time. Lunar Concepts has a better way.

Their Bladetech TekWraps are basically a sleeve that slips onto the back plate of your Tek-Loks. The sleeve has hook material on one side and loop on the other which can serve to lock the Tek-Lok in place between your inner and outer belt or even just in place on a duty belt. This is a simple and useful solution.

The TekWraps come in packs of 3. Check them out at Lunar Concepts.
