Recover Grip from Recover Tactical

Here is an interesting new product from Recover Tactical. The Recover Grip is a two piece, bolt-on grip that attaches in place of the standard grips and covers nearly the entire receiver of your 1911. It allows you to convert any 1911 to accept a weapon mounted light. The Recover Grip can be installed without a gunsmith and without permanent modification. It is available in Black, OD Green, and Desert Sand.

I suspect that finding a holster to fit it may be a challenge unless it really takes off. I have also noticed that the grip doesn’t support the plunger tube like properly fit standard grips typically do but this is not an issue for most modern 1911s.

Interesting concept. Looks like an easy way to upgrade a cheap or no frills 1911. I’ll be curious to see how it handles the abuse from shooting.

Any info how it fits with ambi safety? I know I currently have to trim down my standard grips to clear it right now.

The info on their website says it accommodates ambidextrous safeties. The two sides are mirror images of each other. It was designed by the Israelis so it has to be good.
