Be Smart with Your PMAG Back Orders

Before you order any more magazines, do something to support the 2nd Amendment and the Bill or Rights. Contact your Representatives, join the NRA, have an intelligent conversation with a friend who is undecided on the issues, just do something!

I have already mentioned the E-Lander magazines and given you a window into what is happening at Brownells right now but I continue to get emails that ask about what is available in terms of magazines, ammo, AR-15 lowers, etc. The vast majority of the emails center around AR-15 magazines – PMAGs in particular. The fact is that PMAGs are back ordered everywhere right now, but if you have a bit of knowledge, you can make your PMAG back ordering experience go a bit smoother.

Cases of PMAGS

Choose the Right Color

Magpul is making magazines at full capacity, but they are only making them in black. I am hearing reports of orders for other colors (FDE, Foliage Green, OD Green, etc) being canceled simply because there is no ETA on the colored mags.

Choose the Right Generation

Magpul isn’t giving specifics about their production process, but it appears that the Gen 2 PMAG, now called the PMAG Gen M2 MOE, is shipping faster than the new PMAG Gen M3. This makes sense since the Gen M2 MOE has been in production longer and production had just barely ramped up on the PMAG Gen M3 when all of the panic buying started.

Choose the Right Dealer

Magpul deals with several distributors and a handful of “Featured Online Resellers.” It would probably be wise to back order with these resellers.

Wrap Up

So, if you want to make your PMAG back order experience go a bit smoother, arm yourself with some knowledge. Your best bet is probably to order black PMAG Gen M2 MOE mags from a place like Brownells or DSG Arms that is a Magpul “Featured Online Reseller,” has huge capacity to move products, and who has a long history of taking care of their customers.

Great post. There is a lot of profiteering out there based around the hysteria.

Thanks for the great post Ryan. Just FYI, I don’t think either Midway or Brownells is allowing backorders for PMAGs right now.

You are correct. It looks like Brownells shut down back ordering oh PMAGS. Thank you for the heads up.
